Central Preschool Philosophy and Objectives
The objective of the Preschool is to provide a loving and kind environment in which the child’s fullest growth potential will be fostered – mentally, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Learning experiences are based on the characteristics of young children, respect for individual differences, and the acceptance of each person’s uniquene
ss. Mental Objectives
By providing proper work and play materials and allowing each child to develop his own ideas, we feel his own natural curiosity will lead him to new learning experiences. With conversations, stories, pictures, songs, and dramatic play, we promote language development, listening skills and we hope to broaden his/her range of interests and ideas. Social Objectives
Our social objective is to make each child feel at ease in a group and to feel that he/she is a necessary part of the class. We encourage his/her adjustment to new or changing situations and his/her desire to try new things. We hope to promote a beginning realization that it is fun and satisfying to work cooperatively and that the help of others is often needed. Emotional Objectives
Our Preschool program promotes a feeling of security and adequacy at school, making each child feel confident of himself/herself. We want him/ her to be pleased when he/she is successful and not unduly discouraged when he/she is unsuccessful. Physical Objectives
We provide opportunities to use large muscles and develop balance, coordination and other large body skills, as well as hand-eye coordination and small muscle development. Spiritual Objectives
Our objective is to provide a growing appreciation and enjoyment of the interesting, lovely things in God’s world. We want children to think of themselves as special and unique children of God.
