🎓 Lessons Learned 🎓

This morning seniors, Cole Martin & Cayden Akers, shared about the lessons they have learned these past four years in high school. Lessons about life and lessons that have brought them closer to God.

Cole shared how he has learned not to be content or settle, but to keep looking to be better than you were the day before. He learned to not be satisfied with being a “lukewarm Christian” or living like one when it’s convenient. He shared “But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.”~Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭36‬ ‭

Cayden then shared how he learned to not be scared to talk with others, be careful who you surround yourself. Community is everything and will either draw you closer to the Lord or further from him. He also shared how he’s grown to allow God’s light to shine in and through him more and not allow the fear of others hinder this. Cayden shared this passage: ““You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”~Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭

Thank you Cole and Cayden for the impact you have left. We are excited to see how God continues to work and through you all in this next chapter of your lives!

Have a GREAT summer everyone!!! ☀️

~ Perfect Timing ~

We love Fridays!

This morning senior, Lydia Pratt, shared about trusting in God’s timing and plan over our own. Lydia vulnerably shared how this senior year has had many up and down moments but through them all she has continued to see God’s faithfulness. She said, “God’s timing and plans aren’t always comfortable but they’re good.”

Lydia shared about her struggle with thinking her plans were set for after graduation, but how God radically changed those plans last minute. She shared Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 and reminded us God has perfect timing for everything, even when we can’t see it. His timeline for our lives is different for everyone. Lydia encouraged us to not rush our life away looking for the next thing because we end up missing where God has us right now. She ended saying sometimes the things we resist the most God uses the greatest for us. Faith is saying God I don’t understand but trust in you.

Don’t spend the entire present hoping for the future. Thank you Lydia!

~ Full of the Spirit ~

Friday mornings are the best!

“If the light that shines on you is greater than the light that shines within you, the light that shines on you will destroy you.”-anonymous

This morning our teacher sponsor, Mr. Brown, shared the above quote. He asked what we are allowing ourselves
to be filled with-is it the Holy Spirit or is it things of this world? Mr. Brown shared about two men in the Bible, Stephen and Paul, who were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and how God used them in great ways.

“Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.”~Acts‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭

Thank you Mr. Brown for pouring into our community and helping point others to Jesus!

See you next week!

~ God Like Friendships~

We love starting our Fridays together!

Amazed and encouraged by our students who boldly share God’s word. This morning, Kalee Aiken (Junior) & Jazi Hidalgo (Sophomore), shared the importance of having Godly friendships. They shared these 4 main points when it comes to friendships:

1.) Value- Ruth 1:15-18
2.) Actions- James 1:19; Proverbs 18:21
3.) Growth-you become who your 5 closest friends are, and they provide accountability
4.) Non-Christian Friends- can be friends with them but not your inner circle, walk with them in love & grace that God shows us to help direct them to Jesus

Kaylee and Jazi ended with reminding us no friendship is perfect but a Godly friendship is worth the struggles we walk through and should draw us closer to God.

Thank you Kaylee and Jazi for your encouragement in God’s word and reminding us of the importance to choose our friends wisely!
