I just want to say thank you to all the volunteers who helped pack the gifts bags for the Jail. And a big shout out to all those who donated either items or money towards this outreach. We picked up #150 of these Bibles for the gift bags. We will see everyone tomorrow night at 6pm in the fellowship hall to help fill the bags.

We will be providing 150 gift bags to the officers and the staff at the New River Valley Jail in support of Law Enforcement week on Wednesday, May 10th. Please bring all donations for gift bags to the Church by this Sunday, May 7th. We will have a table set up in the foyer for you to place your items. Suggested items to bring may include gift cards, energy drinks, bottled beverages, small bags of chips or snacks, individually wrapped mini donuts or little Debbie snacks, candy bars, wrapped candy, wrapped chocolate, oranges etc. You may also include personal items such as ChapStick, hand sanitizer, and stationary items like pens or pencils etc. You do not have to bring 150 of one item, anything will help. If you do not have time to go shopping and would still like to help, we will also be taking donations. If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, we will be filling the bags on Tuesday, May 9th at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall. We would love to have you participate in this event. Ok Fairlawn Church of God, you came out and showed up in an amazing way on Sunday. The Prison Ministry can't say thank you enough! We have about 15 Angels left to be sold out of this year's Angle Tree. These Angels are for Kids & Teen Bibles. Please pick one up at Church on Wednesday or this Sunday. All gifts are due back to the Angel Tree table by 12/12. God bless you and thank you for giving. You are making a difference in the hearts of some hurting kids this Christmas.

Its that special time of year again, its time for Angel Tree 2021! We are looking for partners, volunteers and sponsors for this years Angel Tree. We have doubled our efforts this year to 50 children, spanning the entire NRV area. I will be making an announcement at the November 7th Sunday Service. Please sign up at one of the posters at the Church starting this Sunday. Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Thank you, Fairlawn Church of God, for your love and generosity in making this year’s Angel Tree Ministry a huge success. This year we were able to deliver Christmas presents to 18 deserving children ranging in age from 1-16. We were able to pray and share the Love of Christ with as many that would receive it. The heartfelt gratitude and appreciation from the caregivers was moving to say the least. Looking back, it was the Fairlawn Church of God who truly received the greatest gift. If you feel led to be a part of the team that will be writing letters to the incarcerated parents of the children, please reach out to me and I will get you plugged in. Great ready for next Christmas Church we will be increasing our number to #50 children and we will need your help. God bless all those who gave and those who prayed. The best is yet to Come! "We used to not get Christmas," remembers Trisha. "One year we didn't get anything for Christmas, and then in school the next day we had to write about what we got. I was the only one who didn't get anything, which made me really sad." One Christmas, Trisha’s dad registered her for Prison Fellowship Angel Tree. She remembers when volunteers showed up with a stack of gifts. “Angel Tree has helped our family so much,” Trisha says.
