Throughout the 20 years that Neighborhood Camp has been in existence, it’s mission was to provide kids living in urban neighborhoods, a place to be fed, nourished, and educated, while being safe for five-weeks during the summer.
Although camp looked different this year because of Covid-19, our mission was still the same.
We just had to figure out a way to bring camp to the kids, instead of the kids coming to us.
After months of brain storming and research, we determined that it would be beneficial, as well as safe, to do camp virtually.
Being fully aware that many of our campers would not have the means to connect with us virtually, Neighborhood Camp purchased 80 Chromebooks, which provided all our kids access.
Throughout the three weeks of camp, our kids engaged in educational workshops, science experiments, arts & crafts, God Time, one-on-one conversations with their personal staff member, and so much more.
In addition, each camper received a food basket that contains enough food to feed a family of four, for the week.
So for our 21 year, things looked a little different, but in reality it was much the same.
We served our neighborhood kids with Love.
A HUGE THANK-YOU to Outreach for Hope, The Siebert Lutheran Foundation, The Racine Community Foundation, and all our private donors, who made this all possible. We could not have done it without You‼️
