This past Saturday we were honored to make Christmas a bit brighter for over 175 children in our community, yet none of this could have happened without our wonderful volunteers and the awesome support we received from our local community. Special thanks to Christmas Sharing Food Pantry, Brookshire's store 060 and members of the Quitman community who donated to their Spirit of Christmas Food Drive. Brookshire’s corporate division, Lake Country Classics Car Club, Trinidad Benham Co., Origin Bank, Wood County Electric Co-Op, Peoples Telephone, the offices of the Wood County Courthouse, Don Roberts Abstract & Title, Dr. Greg Eberhart DDS, the Guideons and Quitman/Lake Fork Kiwanis for their gracious donations.
We are so grateful for the donations from First United Methodist Church Quitman and their Open Door Sunday School Class, Myrtle Springs Baptist Church, Myrtle Springs Baptist Youth, Faith Baptist Church, Liberty Methodist Church, Forest Hill, Baptist Church, Quitman Veterinary Clinic, Reflections Hospice, the Gideons, and Grady Doss. Thank you to Honor Coffee Co. and Styles by Kim for allowing toiletry collection boxes to be set up at their businesses.
We would also like to thank the many local businesses that allowed donation jars to be placed in their locations, as well as those that distributed and collected angels for our Angel tree.
We are so very thankful for our numerous private donors for their financial support as well as those who donated items to the children and seniors of our community.
Thank you to all three Quitman ISD campuses for their canned food drives. Also to the Quitman Police Department for their support the morning of distribution.
Lastly, we would like to thank the Flora Masonic Lodge in Quitman for their annual Fish Fry fundraiser. We truly appreciate the hard work this event requires that benefits Christmas Sharing and the community of Quitman.
Christmas Sharing distributed 172 boxes of Christmas dinners to residents of the Quitman area. Over 400 individuals were served, including several residents of Wesley House and Heritage Nursing Home. Thank you all so much for helping us to bless our community!
