DAILY DEVOTION

What’s Required for Salvation?

The entire Trinity works in our salvation, giving us the comfort of complete assurance.

Ephesians 2:1-9

Is it possible to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are saved? Yes! God wants us to have unquestionable assurance of our salvation (1 John 5:13). And three words anchor our assurance that our faith is genuine.

1. Knowledge. It is essential to know that we are sinners and our sins have alienated us from God. Since we are helpless to remedy this situation, He is our only hope for salvation. We must also know that Jesus is God and He came to die in our place, thereby rescuing us.
2. Conviction. One of the Holy Spirit’s jobs is to convict us of sin so we can see our need for a Savior (John 16:8). But that alone is not enough. God’s Spirit also convinces us the message of salvation in Christ is true, and He invites us to respond.
3. Trust. When we come to see our need and the sufficiency of Christ’s provision for our forgiveness, the next step is trust—believing in and relying on Jesus as our Savior and Lord.

The entire Trinity is involved in our salvation. The Son provided the perfect sacrifice for sin, the Father draws us to Christ, and the Holy Spirit convicts and convinces us to believe in Jesus. We are saved because of God’s amazing grace and limitless love.

Today’s Message

Sometimes before God brings you into a new season, He does a deep work within you. The first stage can be humbling. You may feel overlooked, misunderstood, or disappointed, and your prayers may seem unanswered. Yet hidden seasons are not necessarily wasted seasons. God can use them to develop humility, strengthen your character, and teach you to depend on Him rather than recognition from people.

The second stage can be obedience. God may ask you to forgive, release what you have been holding, wait patiently, or take a step that requires faith. You may not understand every “why,” but obedience keeps your heart aligned with God. What He develops within you is often more important than how quickly your circumstances change.

Then, in God’s timing, a new season can begin. Doors can open unexpectedly, direction can become clear, and opportunities can arrive that you could never have arranged yourself. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time” (1 Peter 5:6).

Do not despise the hidden season. Stay humble, stay obedient, and stay faithful. God can be preparing you today for responsibilities and opportunities you cannot yet see.

Daily Word

You don’t just happen to be alive today on Planet Earth. Before your parents ever breathed a breath, before they ever showed up, God already knew you and chose when you would live. This is your moment, your time. You’ve been equipped and empowered. He put His anointing on your life, His favor. You have the talent, the courage, the connections you need. Everything has been strategically thought out. You’re not lacking. The obstacles you face are not too much for you. If you couldn’t handle it, God wouldn’t have put you here now. If the giants were too big, you wouldn’t be here. If the dream wasn’t attainable, you wouldn’t have breath.

After all God has done, handpicked you for such a time as this, and crowned you with His favor, don’t go through life thinking you’re ordinary. The circumstances in your life may not be good today, but your destiny has been carefully planned. The conditions are right for you to succeed, to flourish, to blossom, to accomplish dreams, to overcome obstacles, to leave your mark. You are well able.

Prayer For Today
Father, thank You that You are the Most High God, and You handpicked me and set me apart for Your own purpose before my birth. Thank You for calling me to live by a higher standard and be set apart for Your purpose. I want to live up to my calling and bring You praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen 🙏🏾

Thought of the Day

Sometimes the season that feels uncomfortable can become the season where God develops you the most. You may experience waiting, uncertainty, closed doors, or moments when you feel alone. These seasons are not necessarily signs that God has abandoned you. He can use difficulties to strengthen your character, deepen your dependence on Him, and teach you lessons that comfort could never teach.

Before God entrusts you with greater responsibility, He may prepare your heart to carry it with wisdom, humility, and faithfulness. The waiting can develop patience. The pressure can build endurance. The uncertainty can teach you to trust God instead of depending only on what you can see. Do not focus only on where you want to go; pay attention to who you are becoming along the way.

“Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1:3–4).

Don’t despise the preparation season. God may be doing something deeper than changing your circumstances—He may be strengthening you for what comes next.

Meditation Moment

After leaving church a little bit ago it had me thinking 🤔

Can I admit something that sometimes makes me feel like a hypocrite?

I talk about Jesus while I’m still struggling to follow Him myself.

I tell people to trust God while there are days I question Him.

I talk about surrender while I’m still trying to control things.

I tell people to forgive while there are wounds in me I’m still working through.

I talk about faith while sometimes sitting alone wondering if my own prayers are even making it past the ceiling.

And yeah...

Sometimes I wonder, “Who am I to tell anybody about Jesus when I’m still fighting my own sin, doubts, weaknesses, and battles?”

Then I remember something.

I was never the point of the story.

Jesus is!!!!

I’m not telling you about Him because I figured Christianity out.

I’m telling you about Him because I know what it feels like to desperately need grace.

I’m not standing above anybody saying, “Look how good I am”.

I’m standing beside you saying, “Look how good He has been to me, even when I haven’t been”.

That changes everything.

Because maybe somebody reading this thinks they need to clean themselves up before they can come to God.

Maybe you think you’ve sinned too much.

Questioned too much.

Relapsed too many times.

Made too many promises you couldn’t keep.

Run too far.

Listen to me...

If God only used perfect people, none of us would have a testimony.

I’m still growing.

Still learning.

Still screwing things up.

Still asking forgiveness.

Still having days when my faith feels strong and days when I have to fight just to remember what I believe.

But maybe that’s exactly why I keep talking about Jesus.

Because I’m not evidence of what human perfection looks like.

I’m evidence of what grace looks like when it refuses to give up on an imperfect human being.

So no, I’m not going to wait until I have everything together before I tell somebody what God has done for me.

I’ll tell you while I’m still healing.

I’ll tell you while I’m still struggling.

I’ll tell you while there are parts of my own life I’m still laying at His feet.

Because maybe somebody doesn’t need another perfect Christian telling them how to live.

Maybe they need a broken one willing to sit beside them and say, “Me too. And He still loves me. So maybe you’re not too far gone either”.

That’s the Gospel I know.

Not perfection.

Daily Reflection

God's laws are perfect, and His commands are trustworthy, given to guide us into a life filled with wisdom, strength, and joy.

It is only through our obedience that these divine truths become alive in our daily walk.

True transformation comes when we put His instructions into practice. Our hearts are renewed, our minds are enlightened, and our souls are strengthened.

When we walk in obedience, His wisdom directs our path, His strength sustains us, and His presence brings lasting renewal to our lives.

God's Word transforms us not merely through information, but through faithful application. Obedience unlocks the joy, wisdom, and renewal that He lovingly desires for every one of His children.

Word for Today

No Longer a Victim

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength, Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV).

Do these words sound familiar to you? Powerless. Defenseless. Helpless. Hopeless. Maybe they are familiar because they describe ways you have felt in the past or ways you feel right now. Anyone who has been abused, wounded, or victimized may know exactly how these emotions feel.

The good news is that even if these words describe you today, they do not have to define you in the future. When you ask God to heal your soul and you follow as He leads, you move from being powerless to being powerful, from being defenseless to realizing that God is on your side, from being helpless to having the Helper, the Holy Spirit, living in you, and from being hopeless to being filled with hope and faith. As He heals you, you walk out of sorrow into joy and out of weakness into strength. You exchange every negative thing you have suffered for all the good things God has for you.
You are not weak and helpless, and there are things you can do to protect yourself against further hurt and damage to your soul. Choose your companions in life wisely and confront people who treat you cruelly and disrespectfully.

In some cases, abuse is so severe and abusers are so dangerous that the best course of action is to get away from them. People who abuse others because they are bullies, though, will often back down when confronted. In fact, they typically do not respect people who meekly accept or submit to their bad behavior. Although standing up to them may be difficult at first, it is usually the only way they will stop abusing. Many of them secretly wish someone would challenge them and stand up to them.

When we choose to stand up to people who bully or abuse us, we should do so after praying and seeking God for the right time, the right place, and the way we are to deal with them. We should certainly use wisdom and also decide in advance that we will behave in godly ways, no matter how ungodly the other person may act.

The only way we will know how to handle this kind of situation properly is to rely on God to guide us and to be obedient to what He teaches us. I had to learn to stand up for myself, and although it was difficult to do, it was worth it. I urge you not to give in to the fear that might be trying to hold you back. God will give you the courage and strength to do what He guides you to do.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, heal my soul and give me courage to stand against abuse. Help me exchange weakness for Your strength and walk in obedience to You, Amen.
