September: The Month of Our Lady of Sorrows. The month of September is traditionally dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, whose feast we celebrate on September 15. This devotion draws us into the deep union between Mary and her Son. From the prophecy of Simeon to the foot of the Cross, Mary knew profound sorrow, yet she never abandoned Jesus. She remained faithful, present, and trusting even when she could not see beyond the suffering before her.

Our Lady of Sorrows reminds us that faith does not remove the cross, it teaches us how to carry it with Christ. As Catholic men, may we ask Mary to help us face our own struggles with courage, remain faithful when life is difficult, and keep our eyes fixed on her Son.

In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll continue putting into practice what we learned at our recent Men’s Leadership Summit by building around these four essential pillars. Faith has to be lived. Brotherhood has to be built. And both begin by showing up.

This devotion invites us to reflect on the deep union between Mary and her Son. From the prophecy of Simeon to standing beneath the Cross, Mary shared intimately in the suffering of Christ and remained faithful through every sorrow.

Our Lady of Sorrows reminds us that faith does not always spare us from suffering, but it can teach us how to remain close to Jesus in the midst of it.

As Catholic men, may we ask Mary to help us carry our own crosses with courage, trust, and perseverance, always keeping our eyes fixed on her Son.
