With grief and the promise of eternal life, we are sad to share that Martha McMahon passed away on Friday, May 22.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., Milton, on Friday, June 12, from 4 – 7 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 am.

Please pray for Martha’s extended family and our church family.

Let There be Joy! Thank you to all the performers who filled the sanctuary with beautiful and moving music for our annual Gospel Night concert.

The choir also debuted a new piece titled, "Let There be Joy" by Joseph Martin, which the church commissioned as a loving memorial from family, friends, and former students inspired by Allen Thomas, our longtime music director, whose lifelong gift of music enriched the lives of so many.

A wonderful group of volunteers from First Presby spent last evening serving a meal to more than 80 individuals who are experiencing homelessness or living in poverty in Boston, through the incredible nonprofit organization Friday Night Supper Program.

Thank you to the great group of First Presby volunteers who celebrated Earth Day this morning by helping to beautify the lovely Squantum Point Park in Quincy.

Thank you to the wonderful group of First Presby volunteers who helped pick, invoice, and pack books to be sent to incarcerated individuals through the Prison Book Program.

Thank you to the wonderful group of volunteers who helped pack food at the Greater Boston Food Bank this morning! We helped pack 10,800 pounds of food into 360 boxes, which is enough to supply 9,000 meals to people in need throughout Eastern Massachusetts.

Thank you to the wonderful group of volunteers who worked together on a snowy morning to pack 85 bagged lunches for the Father Bill’s Housing Resource Center in Quincy.

A hard-working team of First Presby volunteers spent the morning sorting and packing clothing, school supplies, and hygiene kits at Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts. The items will be distributed to disadvantaged children throughout Massachusetts.

After Coffee Hour there will be all church caroling at Regal Care Nursing Home, 211 Franklin Street, across from the church. Open to all, including kids! We will sing familiar favorites, so come and join us!!

Blue Christmas Worship Service (December 17, 7:00 pm, in the Sanctuary)
Our annual Blue Christmas worship service is dedicated to anyone who is experiencing loss or just needs to feel uplifted during the holidays. Through prayer, Scripture, music, and reflection, we will worship God in the midst of the mourning, grief, and anxiety of the Christmas season

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service (December 24, 7:30 pm, in the Sanctuary)
Join us on December 24, for our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service of Lessons and Carols with music by three professional instrumentalists. The service will be followed by cookies and cocoa in Horte Hall.

Join us on Sunday mornings during Advent for a pre-worship "Cafe Discussion" series.

We'll gather at 9 a.m. in the church library on Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, and Dec. 21. Coffee, tea, snacks, and friendly conversation included!

Our theme will be "Go Tell."

The practice of "Go Tell" is really quite simple: Someone who cares about other people and wants what is best for their lives shares with them the good news of what God has done and is
doing in Jesus Christ.

Sharing the gospel does not involve high-pressure persuasion, sophisticated arguments, or browbeating people with fear tactics. It is, rather, sharing a gift in love.

We are especially excited to discuss this topic amidst so much skepticism toward Christianity in our culture. Hope you can join us!
