Final Day in Ancient Rome! What a week!

Thank you parents for sharing your children with us. They have been such a joy! We have had the opportunity to have many great conversations, ask questions, pray, and worship together!

We'll see you all Sunday when we have the opportunity to share God's love. Which was our learning point today. 🤗 We will sing their favorite songs in worship, share our focused Bible verses, see one last skit, and see a slideshow with all the week's photos. Service begins at 9:30 and ten minutes early is plenty. Parents, you will also have the opportunity to walk around the church to see the Rome your children were able to experience all week. After service, we will meet in the fellowship room where we ate breakfast all week for drinks and snacks.

What lengths are you willing to go to in order to share your faith? Perhaps you sometimes feel like it’s not worth the effort. Or you feel inadequate to share something so personal. Maybe sometimes you are ashamed or embarrassed to share God’s love. We encourage you to boldly and excitedly share the life-changing Good News of God’s love.

Shout out to Quincy Fire Department-Quincy Michigan for always being on call for emergencies and spraying our VBS kids. We are thankful for you!

Hey there VBS parents & guardians!

Here's a reminder about the slight change in schedule on Friday to allow time for some extra fun as we send you off!

Child pick-up will take place between 11:50 - 12:05. This will give you time to help your child/ren change into modest water clothing, if so desired, before we begin with the firetruck outside. At 12:15, we will show our appreciation to those who have been involved in VBS. Then present a donation to the Quincy Fire Department-Quincy Michigan before the water fun takes place. Ice cream will be served!

Day 4 in Ancient Rome.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” Romans 5:8

Most Romans didn’t have a concept of a caring, compassionate deity. So you can imagine how revolutionary Paul’s words in Romans 5:8 were to the early Christians in Rome. In Romans 5, Paul writes of reconciliation, of relationship, with God. God didn’t wait for an especially good sacrifice from us nor did he hold back his love until we deserved it. As the new Christians in Rome grew in their faith, they must have been amazed to discover such a selfless and pure love!

Some reminders to parents:

Tomorrow is our last day together. As we wrap up our week, your children will have an opportunity to participate in the coin challenge one last time. The 2nd & 3rd graders have been tough to beat! Those donations go straight to the Quincy Fire Department-Quincy Michigan who will be hosing them down after the day has finished at about 12:15. So please bring a towel for your children.

One last thing, we would really love if you and your children could attend our Sunday service this weekend which starts at 9:30 to praise Jesus! Your children will have an opportunity to share their favorite songs from the week and as well as our focused Bible verses. We hope to see you there!

Day 3 in Ancient Rome.

Wow! What a day.

Paul's words in Romans 8:38, "...nothing can ever separate us from God’s love", helped to show us a tender and compassionate Heavenly Father who wraps his children in a strong and never-ending love. To Romans, who may have lived in fear of authority figures, this was a revolutionary idea. Unconditional love is still a concept people struggle with. It seems illogical that God would love us so completely, so perfectly, even when we’re imperfect. But Paul passionately proclaims that even death can’t separate us from God’s powerful love. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, God’s love truly is always with us!

Day 2 in Ancient Rome.

We focused on how God's love for us, changes us!

Paul’s encouragement to the Roman Christians is simple: Don’t be like your neighbors who foolishly offer sacrifices to idols. And it’s more than just your actions that should be different—let God change your heart.

Scripture Focus:
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think”(Romans 12:2).

You are still welcome to join us, even if you haven't been the first two days. Each day brings something special! Come Between 8 and 8:40 for breakfast, we'll get your child/ren registered and ready to explore the Roman marketplace!

Day 1 in Ancient Rome as Christians

Children learned that God's love is a gift!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

This passage explains why Jesus came and died. Paul most definitely knew he deserved death, he earned it (just as we all have). But he wanted the Roman believers to realize that God didn't give us what we deserved... God gave us an incredible free gift. Eternal life!
