We lost a pillar within our congregation yesterday as our beloved Youth Minister and friend, Matt Smith, went home to be with the Lord. We grieve with the family, but we surely have hope as we know that those who are "asleep in Christ" will one day rise again!

Matt's funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 8th at 10am at Central Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday, Dec. 7th at the church as well. Service is being organized by Hansen-Spears Funeral Home.

Hello Facebook friends! This Sunday is a special day as we are having our "Welcome Back" Combined Service here at Central Baptist Church, 8:30am, at the corner of 7th and Broadway in Quincy, IL (right across from the new Carter's Coffee Shop!) This will be a time of fellowship and celebration as we bring in the Fall season together with both new and returning church goers. Along with that, we will have Sunday School immediately following the service. There is a class for all ages. You'll want to stick around, because at 11am we will have our carry-in potluck meal, and everyone is invited to come for plenty of food and fellowship (you will not need to bring a dish to enjoy the meal with us). We hope to see you there this Sunday!

We would like everyone to be aware that we are beginning our new office hours starting tomorrow. The church will now be closed every Friday to give both staff and volunteers much needed rest before the often busy weekend arrives. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Just a friendly reminder, there will only be one church service at Central today due to plumbing issues and the water being shut off. If you would like to watch the service via the internet, click on the following YouTube link to watch the live stream at 8:30.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: We will only have one service tomorrow at 8:30AM due to the breaking of our water main within the building. The 11:00AM service and Sunday School are canceled. All water for the church has been turned off, so that means the toilets will not function as they should. With that being said, if you do choose to come to the service, YOU CANNOT USE THE RESTROOMS, this is for sanitation and safety purposes. The service will be live streamed on the church YouTube channel for those who would rather stay home. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I know that God will continue to receive praise through this ordeal.

Today is Pentecost Sunday, and the Holy Spirit was truly in this place as we worshipped and broke bread together. Pastor Jason also started his summer sermons on the teachings of Christ with his message entitled, "From Salt to Light."
