Dear City of Quincy and the faithful disciples of Jesus at Luther Memorial Church,
Today's message is one of anger, disappointment, a feeling of violation, and yet, of great hope for the future
I am delivering today's message while I am away from Quincy with my family.
Today's message addresses the recent burglary of LMC.

Our faith community is bigger than this. In Christ Jesus, we are stronger than this. If anything, this demonstrates how crucial our ministries are *right now.*
WE SHALL CONTINUE ONWARD IN CHRIST JESUS. WE WILL NOT BE DISCOURAGED.
We are Luther Memorial Church. We are *not only* here for the people who join us on Sunday mornings.
**All of the people** who use our facility were violated by this intrusion and theft. ALL OF THEM., It was more than "stealing from a church," as horrible as it is. It was stealing from each and every community group that calls our church building its home--of of those we partner with to improve their lives, to grow, and who come to trust in the love of God through Christ.
AND YET---WE WILL NOT BE DISMAYED.
WE WILL MOVE FORWARD.
WITH CHRIST AS OUR HEAD, WE WILL NOT LET EVIL PREVAIL.

Many thanks to Congregational President Jason Washington and Director of Music Bill Machold who, along with our friends at WGEM News and Muddy River News, have communicated this violation to our broader community.
May the peace of Christ be with you, our disciples at LMC, and all of the Quincy area.
And may both we and God forgive those who wronged us as we seek forgiveness from those whom we wrong.
In Christ,
Rev. Brett Gosteli
Pastor, Luther Memorial Church
