Last week, we lost a beloved member of No-Limits Special Needs Ministry, Isabelle Jones. If you ever got the chance to know Isabelle, you didn’t just get the chance to make a new friend. You laughed, learned joy, and experienced love. Isabelle was the very epitome of a life to the full.

I have a unique story when it comes to my friend, Isabelle. Isabelle and I are one month apart in age and were both born in Springfield, IL—I still have faint memories of going to music therapy with my brother and Isabelle. Then, our parents both moved to Quincy. I would spend time with Isabelle at Camp Callahans, and for the last few years, I’ve had the privilege of calling her a member of No-Limits. I will always cherish the memories I have of her and our hilarious conversations.

An encouragement in this time from the mouth of Christ: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I don’t always understand a loss like this. It’s frustrating and heartbreaking to say the least. So, speaking for a community at No-Limits that deeply loved Isabelle, we mourn. But, like anything as challenging as this, we never isolate and will allow the body of Christ to be our lifeline.

With a heavy heart,
Paul Hathaway

As many of you know, last Tuesday, we lost a dear friend, Collin Little. Camp Callahan, 2021, was my first encounter with Collin, and to say the least, he was the most joyful, energetic, yet compassionate guy I'd ever met. Collin was a man who, despite all of his challenges, never ceased to stay strong in the Lord.

One of our volunteers, Krista Bangert, said it best: "Despite all the obstacles that Collin faced, his faith was strong, and he proudly worshipped God. I have no doubt in my mind that he is rejoicing in heaven with our Lord this holy weekend."

To the family of Collin Little, the prayers of this ministry and our people go out to you. We will forever rejoice over the privilege of knowing Collin, but together, we mourn over a life that was taken too soon.

In the event of such a saddening loss, regardless of who you are, never hesitate to reach out to your community. In times of pain, confusion, and loss, we need the body of Christ to keep our eyes fixed on his love.

Christ be with all of you,
Paul Hathaway
