New Life Christian Center was founded by senior pastor, Shamdeo Hardyal (Ivan) in 1992. Acknowledging the call God had placed upon his life from a tender age, he set out to start his ministry in becoming a pastor and leader of God’s people. He was determined to do God’s work no matter what hurdles and challenges came. Despite not having an official church building to host services, Pastor Shamdeo and the members of the growing NLCC didn’t allow that to prevent them from gathering, and having regular services. In the month of October 1992, assistant Pastor and worship leader at the time Joshua Zailabdeen (Shazo) opened his home to host the first of many services. However, the congregation began to grow which lead to greater intercession for a church building. Finally, in the year 1998, began the first stages of having an official building for the brethren to gather. This was a new chapter that was filled with excitement and challenges, but through prayer, fasting, fund raisers, and God using His people to bless the project, everything fell into place at the right time. Without a doubt, God is able to sustain His people, and will always give them the victory. Hence, in the year 2000, the building was completed and fellowship began. Throughout this time, God had been working mightily through the ministry and used Pastor Shamdeo to Minister from service to service. Many came and were saved, healed, baptized, and ran with the calling of God. Eventually, in the year 2012, senior pastor Shamdeo Hardyal was set to migrate to the USA along with his family. Subsequently, Pastor Hushan Ganga (John) was given the mantle, and has since been pastoring the church in Guyana along with other faithful leaders. They have been doing a wonderful job up keeping the church and ministry back home. Today you can visit the same very church at Lot 24E Ramphal Street, Corentyne Berbice, Guyana SA. After pastor Shamdeo moved to the US, his desire was to continue with God’s calling and has since started a sister church which became official by the year 2013. By this time, many other senior members who had migrated to the USA joined him in the extension of the ministry.
