s not been used as a regular place of worship since the 19th Century, but the daughter church congregations of Old Green Hill Church come together around St. Bartholomew's Day every year for "Green Hill Sunday" worshiping in the church and enjoying a community picnic on the grounds after the service. In 1752, the Rev. Alexander Adams, Sr., then Rector of Stepney Parish, donated a handsome five-piece silver communion service to the Parish, consisting of a flagon large enough to hold a gallon of wine, two chalices and two chalice-cover patens. He had ordered the service the year before from the London firm of William Shaw & William Priest, well-regarded silversmiths of their time. Adams was born in England, ordained by the Bishop of London in 1703, and served Stepney Parish for sixty-five years, from 1704 until his death in 1769.

Hi friends! There is a change in the parking situation for Green Hill Sunday, on August 23: A new parking area has been created on the land to the front of the church behind the tree line, thanks to Greg Langeler. Guests should enter the new parking area through a lane on the left of Green Hill Church Road just before the previous entryway, which was straight ahead. A parking attendant should be there to direct guests.

Additionally, there is a new entranceway from the new parking area directly down to the front of the church. If anyone has difficulty walking that far, their driver can drive down to that entranceway and drop them off right at the front of the church, then take the car back to park.

Please follow the directions of the parking attendants as there is an established parking layout to make the best use of the available, useable space.
