Old Green Hill Church St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church a.k.a. Old Green Hill Church c. 1733 is the mother church of Stepney Parish in Wicomico Co, MD. The Rev.

Visit our website at: https://dioceseofeaston.org/greenhill/ Located at 4035 Green Hill Church Road, Quantico, MD, Old Green Hill Church was built in 1733 and is one of the oldest structures in Wicomico County. It is owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Easton and is a fine example of church colonial architecture. Located on the banks of the Wicomico River in western Wicomico County, Maryland, it has not been used as a regular place of worship since the 19th Century, but the daughter church congregations of Old Green Hill Church come together around St. Bartholomew's Day every year for "Green Hill Sunday" worshiping in the church and enjoying a community picnic on the grounds after the service. Open that Sunday and by appointment. Green Hill Church Communion Silver

In 1752, the Rev. Alexander Adams, Sr., then Rector of Stepney Parish, donated a handsome five-piece silver communion service to the Parish, consisting of a flagon large enough to hold a gallon of w**e, two chalices and two chalice-cover patens. He had ordered the service the year before from the London firm of William Shaw & William Priest, well-regarded silversmiths of their time. Adams was born in England, ordained by the Bishop of London in 1703, and served Stepney Parish for sixty-five years, from 1704 until his death in 1769.

Hi friends! There is a change in the parking situation for Green Hill Sunday, on August 23: A new parking area has been created on the land to the front of the church behind the tree line, thanks to Greg Langeler. Guests should enter the new parking area through a lane on the left of Green Hill Church Road just before the previous entryway, which was straight ahead. A parking attendant should be there to direct guests.

Additionally, there is a new entranceway from the new parking area directly down to the front of the church. If anyone has difficulty walking that far, their driver can drive down to that entranceway and drop them off right at the front of the church, then take the car back to park.

Please follow the directions of the parking attendants as there is an established parking layout to make the best use of the available, useable space.

See you next Sunday!

Thank you to all those who were able to attend our Restoration Project Kick-Off Dinner at Green Hill Country Club on Friday, March 27th. Despite the rainy evening, everyone had a great time. We learned more about the restoration project as a whole, with replacing the roof being the most urgent need.

If you were unable to attend the dinner but would like to donate, you may do so by mailing a check or paying online, choosing one of the options below:

The Green Hill Church Committee is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Easton. This past Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th the DOE’s 158th annual convention was held in Ocean City with Green Hill Church being the focussed ministry for the event. We were an exhibitor and talked about our multi-year project to restore the church to it’s original late 18th century state. Thank you to the many folks who donated $1,000 at Saturday’s Eucharist offering! ❤️

Shown here is our newly designed table-top trifold display board and banner designed by Kevin Nichols, member of St. Peter’s Salisbury Parish.

We will be starting our fundraising capaign soon. Stay tuned for more information!
