Join us this evening at 6:30 PM

You are invited to join the Quanah United Methodists Group as we explore Rev. Adam Hamilton’s series Christianity and World Religions.

SESSION TWO: Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 6:30 PM Central

Additional information and links are in the comments.

About the book:
Pastor and best-selling author Adam Hamilton returns to one of his most popular topics, Christianity and world religions. This new, fully updated book explores four major world religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism—and compares the beliefs of each with those of Christianity.

He deals openly and honestly with questions people ask about other religions, such as:
Why are there so many different religions?
How should Christians view other religions?
How is God at work in other religions?
What is the fate of those who earnestly pursue God through other religions?

In examining these major world religions and the beliefs of their followers, Hamilton urges us as Christians to build bridges with others so that we might grow in our faith, seek peace in our world, love our neighbors, and find positive ways to share the gospel.

We've spent our whole lives trying to be the Good Samaritan—the helper, the hero, the one in control. But what if Jesus told this story from a different angle?

The man in the ditch has no lines. He can't choose who stops. He can't vet their theology or clean himself up first. He can only receive mercy from the person he least expected. That's the scandal we miss: sometimes being loved means being in the ditch with no say in who shows up.

What are you carrying alone right now? What wound are you managing quietly because you don't want to be a burden? God's love doesn't wait for you to climb out on your own terms. It's already on its knees in the dirt next to you—without conditions, without a ceiling, whatever it costs.

This Lent, stop pretending. Let yourself be loved. Luke 10:25-37
