Sermon from 8/20/26: "Holy Ground- Where 'who am I' meets the great 'I AM'" Pastor Jon Bauman, Exodus 3:1-15

Are you really ready for that promotion? That next stage in your relationship? To be a parent? To be a teacher? To be a leader? To do ministry?

When God calls us to do his will, He does not see our limitations as greater than His purposes in our lives.

And remember, if the Holy Spirit dwells within us, everywhere we walk is Holy Ground.

Be sure to listen to the sermon from this past sunday where we dove into what the church is meant to be, how we have fallen short, and what we can do in the present.

"Entrusted with a Fortress: How the Church is Called to be a Place of Shelter, Security & Empowerment"

Scripture:
Matthew 16:13-20
Romans 12:1-8

Pastor Jon C. Bauman, Senior Pastor

08/18/2026

As a child, we learned to not touch a hot stove. Sometimes learning so required a stern "No!". But a child should not define their relationship to their mom or dad by the firm no...it should be defined by the heart that desired to protect them from harm.

In Matthew 15:17-28, Jesus' disciples were judged because they broke a technical rule, and Jesus defended them. Then, a Canaanite woman is judged by his disciples, and Jesus allows for them to see how ugly the judgment in their heart was.

This is a sermon that explores what having a childlike faith is like that grows up with rules, but that eventually learns the heart of God behind them.
