Dear Parish Family,
As many of you know, this past year was my final one as I have decided to retire from my role as Athletic Director for our CYO program. Please know that this decision did not come lightly or easily for me. Joe Geib has graciously taken over and I hope everyone welcomes him as this is a difficult but very rewarding volunteer job.
Serving the young athletes and families of this parish has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the past 8 years, I have had the privilege of watching countless children grow not only as athletes, but as young men and women of faith, character, and sportsmanship. The memories, friendships, and experiences we have shared will remain with me forever.
I am deeply grateful to our pastors, parish staff, coaches, volunteers, parents, and athletes whose dedication has made our CYO program such a special ministry. Your commitment to providing a positive, faith-filled environment for our children has been truly inspiring. Together, we have celebrated victories, learned from challenges, and built a community centered on teamwork, respect, and Catholic values.
I would especially like to thank the many volunteers, parents and of course the young athletes who generously gave their time and talents throughout the years. Our program’s success has always been a reflection of your hard work and dedication.
While retirement marks the end of my time as Athletic Director, I will always remain a proud supporter of our parish and CYO program. I have been asked to stay on and help as an assistant volleyball coach when I can and I still have the HS boys basketball team that I said I will see them all the way through their senior year- so I will certainly be around! I look forward to watching future generations of athletes continue to grow and thrive through the opportunities that CYO provides.
Thank you for your trust, friendship, and support throughout my years of service. It has been a blessing to serve this parish community, and I will cherish these memories for years to come.
Again I want to sincerely thank all those who participate in our CYO program.
With gratitude,
Joe Drelling
Athletic Director (former)
