We gather to equip and encourage the people of God as we represent Jesus Christ in our world. He has eternally existed in three persons as
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are co-equal and one God. Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God. He is equal with and eternally existent with the Father. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered Himself up as the perfect sacrifice for t
he sins of all people by dying on a cross. He physically arose from the grave on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return to earth some day to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is One with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their sin and need for salvation through Jesus Christ. He also exists to help the Christian through this life as promised by Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives within every Christian from the moment of
salvation. He provides the Christian power for living, the understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved.
“Ultimate spirituality” is not connected to any particular gift. The Bible is God’s word to us. It was written by men
who were under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the only
source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it was inspired by God, it contains no errors in the original texts. People. Human beings are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by sin that separates people from God and is the cause of problems in this life. Salvation. Salvation is the free gift of God that must be accepted. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good deeds. Only by faith in Jesus Christ as God’s offer for forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Baptism and Communion. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to symbolize the removal of one’s sin, following Jesus example. Communion is the taking of bread and wine/juice as symbols of the body and blood of Christ, following Jesus instructions. Eternal Security. Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ,
the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot “loose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace of God, not the self-effort of the individual Christian. Eternity. People were created by God to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God in Hell
or with God in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places where resurrected persons ultimately will reside forever. The last days, the future. Jesus will return to earth to rule over all man for a period of 1,000 years. Prior to this there will be a time of great trouble or “tribulation”. All people will face judgment before Jesus Christ and be assigned to Heaven or Hell.
