One of the most honest and sobering realities about the church is that some of the deepest wounds people carry are church wounds. When people enter a community of faith expecting perfection and encounter failure, the disillusionment can be devastating. But the answer to church hurt is not to lower the standard. It is to return to the right standard — the relationship between the Father and the Son.

The church is not called to be perfect in the sense of being without struggle. Every person who walks through the doors of a church has sinned and will sin again. This is precisely why the church needs Jesus at its center. But the church is called to be a community where grace is greater than failure, where truth is spoken in love, and where people are not shot for stumbling but helped back to their feet.

What God starts in you, He is faithful to finish. No matter where you have been or how long it has been since you last sought the Lord, His arms are open and He is ready to meet you right where you are.

This week we reflected on the beauty and purpose of the church as a called-out people, gathered to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). We were reminded of the exalted Christ revealed in Revelation 1 — the Alpha and Omega, the One who conquered death and holds the keys of Hades — and that He alone is worthy of our praise.

As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “If the heart is not worshiping, there is no melody except the melody of self.” True worship flows from hearts rooted in the truth of what God has done for us. He pulled us up when we could not pull ourselves up, and He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

What comes to your mind when you think about God? This question might be the most important thing about you.

We all have thought patterns shaped by our experiences—some empowering, others destructive. The lies we believe become strongholds that hold us captive. But here’s the truth: God is able. He’s given us everything we need through His Word and His Spirit to tear down every lie built up against His truth.

Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10 that our weapons are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. We’re in a real spiritual battle, but we don’t fight alone. Trust God with ALL your heart. Confront the lies with Scripture. Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

You’re not worthless. You’re not without purpose. God isn’t done with you yet. Whatever season you’re in, He can use you for His glory. Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might!

What giants are standing between you and the promised land God has for you?

This week we dove deep into Romans 12:1-2 and the story of the twelve spies in Numbers 13-14. Same land. Same giants. But two completely different perspectives. Ten spies saw obstacles they couldn’t overcome. Joshua and Caleb saw a God who couldn’t be stopped.

Here’s the truth: God has already given you everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). The strongholds in your mind—the lies you’ve believed about yourself, your past, your future—they’re real. But they’re nothing compared to our mighty God. He’s calling you to walk by faith, to hold those giants up to Him and watch them shrink.

There’s a land of milk and honey waiting on the other side of your fear. Will you trust Him to lead you through? The blessing comes when we stop building fortresses of lies and start tearing them down with God’s truth.
