Thank You so much, GARY-O for capturing Pomfret School students helping with projects at our Grove Street cemetery location. They have partnered with us over the last several years, thanks to the help of Jim Shaw and his daughter, Lindsey, a teacher at the school. It was great a day for doing service projects and taking photos of youth giving back to community!

PUTNAM CEMETERY ASSOCIATION
*OFFICE BUILDING BREAK-IN*
WED., 1/21/26 - 11PM TO THURS - 1/22/26 - 5AM
247 Grove Street
Putnam, Connecticut

Dear Grove Street Residents:

Some time between midnight yesterday (Wednesday night) and the early morning hours (5AM) today (Thursday), The Putnam Cemetery Association Office at 247 Grove Street was broken into. As you can see by the photos shared, the front door was smashed in and it's casing and trim damaged. Though nothing appeared to be taken, the damage caused to replace the entire door unit and trim was a costly and time-consuming repair! If anyone on the street has a Ring or surveillance camera, could you please check the footage from the time frame noted for last night, to see if you see anyone on the prowl or walking by your home. The boot marks left up and down the front walkway in front of the building on freshly fallen snow have a unique tread and are large in size.

Please call the Putnam PD at (860) 928-6565 (Officers Boulinger or Cinque) should you have any video or information to share and make sure you pay attention to any unusual activity on your own property if you live on the street or anywhere nearby.

Thank You for any help or input you might be able to share!

(Note: This could be a Tik-Tok Door Kick Challenge)

With Appreciation,

Valentine Iamartino

THE PUTNAM CEMETERY ASSOCIATION spent several thousand dollars upgrading the 100+ year- old signs in The Grove Street Cemetery. Time, money and effort was spent procuring specialty cast signs and installing them (with cement) all throughout the cemetery grounds. Our property is used by alot of people who visit the sacred location to pay respects to their loved ones, as well as by area residents who use the flat roads and serenity of the place for recreational strolls, walks and runs. The Association freely allows it's property to be used in this way. Collectively, our Board of Directors, Superintendent, Sexton and business partners are a dedicated group who strive to be good caretakers and neighbors ~ keeping the grounds maintained, well-groomed, and safe for all who use them. With that being said, we hope that whoever took out the sign/pole pictured with their vehicle late on Sunday or some time on Monday, will do the right thing and come forward to take responsibility for the damage caused, rather than enter a page of shame should our neighbors across the street disclose you to us from images on their ring cameras. It does takes a strong and conscientious person to do the right thing in difficult situations. We hope that person is reading this and has it in them to reach out and take responsibility for what they did!
