DON’T FALL OUT
Tonight in youth, we talked about a teenager named Eutychus in Acts 20:7–12.
Eutychus was sitting in a window while Paul was preaching. It was late, he was tired, and eventually he fell asleep. He lost his balance, fell three stories, and was believed to be dead.
But here’s what stood out to me…
His fall wasn’t the end of his story. ❤️
Eutychus was sitting on the edge, one side inside and one side outside. And sometimes, that’s exactly where we find ourselves.
We may not completely walk away from God, but we start sitting on the “windowsill.”
One foot in church.
One foot in the world.
One foot in God’s Word.
One foot in what everyone else is doing.
And eventually, spiritual exhaustion, temptation, pressure, or the wrong influences can cause us to fall.
Our teenagers are dealing with so much
school, friendships, sports, social media, pressure, anxiety, and trying to figure out who they are. And when we become spiritually tired, our relationship with God can sometimes be the first thing we neglect.
But tonight, we also talked about GRACE.
When Eutychus fell, Paul didn't stand over him and condemn him.
He went down to where he was. He embraced him. And God brought life back. 🙏🏼
What a beautiful reminder that when we fall, God doesn't want us to run away from Him. He wants us to run TO Him.
Maybe you've been sitting on the windowsill.
Maybe you've drifted.
Maybe you've fallen.
GET BACK UP. ❤️
Your mistake isn't your identity.
Your failure isn't your future.
Your fall doesn't have to be the end of your story.
Don't get comfortable on the edge when God is calling you all the way in.
Tonight, my prayer for our youth is that they won't just know about God, they will choose Him completely. That when the world pulls them one way and God calls them another, they'll have the courage to choose God.
🪟 Don't sit on the edge.
❤️ Don't stay down when you fall.
🙏🏼 Don't run from God when you mess up.
🔥 Get back up and get back to Him.
“For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.” Proverbs 24:16
What a powerful night with our youth. We love watching God work in their hearts! ❤️🙏🏼
