We are excited to welcome our new bishop to the Global Conference! We give thanks for the leadership, wisdom, and faithful service he will bring as he steps into this new season of ministry.

Please join us in praying for our bishop, his family, and the work God has placed before him. May God continue to guide, strengthen, and use him to lead His Church and share the love of Christ with the world.

𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏 𝐎𝐅 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐀 𝟏

Rev. Dr. Luther Oconer has been elected a bishop of the Global Methodist Church and will serve Episcopal Area 1, which includes the Mississippi–West Tennessee Annual Conference.

Episcopal Area 1 brings together seven annual conferences from across the globe: Tanzania, Covenant Philippines, India, Mega Manila Philippines, Panama, Mississippi–West Tennessee, and Trinity.

Dr. Oconer currently serves as Conference Superintendent of the Mega Manila Annual Conference in the Philippines and as Associate Professor of Global Wesleyan Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary. He brings experience in pastoral ministry, conference leadership, and theological education to the Global Methodist movement.

We look forward to welcoming Bishop Oconer and working alongside him as we continue our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe. Please be in prayer for Bishop Oconer, his family, and the annual conferences he will serve in this new role.
