A few weeks ago we had the joy of recognizing some of our high school and college grads. Our greatest desire and prayer for each of these young men and women is for them to be faithful followers of the Lord Jesus Christ!

This is the second part of our mission statement: "... to Make Disciples for the Glory of God!" May God be glorified in each of their lives as they step into this next chapter of His story for their lives!

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
~ Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)

Grateful for the privilege and opportunity to worship our Triune God together this morning!

"Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, Ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen."

~ Written in 1674 by Thomas Ken

At Grace Bible Church, "Our Mission is to Preach Christ and Make Disciples for the Glory of God!" The first part of our mission statement, "to Preach Christ," is summarized well by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:21-25...

"For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."
~ 1 Corinthians 1:21–25 (ESV)

Recently we had the joy of witnessing the baptism of a dear brother in Christ Bible Church! To God be the glory!!

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” ~ Matthew 28:18–20 (ESV)

Our pastor, Nicholas Melonas, recently completed a verse by verse exposition of the Old Testament book of Zechariah. You can now access the entire series on our website: https://www.gracebibleva.org/sermons/series/zechariah

Zechariah 1:1–6 (ESV) — 1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, saying, 2 “The LORD was very angry with your fathers. 3 Therefore say to them, Thus declares the LORD of hosts: Return to me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. 4 Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the LORD. 5 Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? 6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? So they repented and said, ‘As the LORD of hosts purposed to deal with us for our ways and deeds, so has he dealt with us.’ ”

This Sunday, Pastor Nick will be preaching to us from Zechariah 14:1-8. Please join us!

Zechariah 14:1–4 (ESV) — 1 Behold, a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women r***d. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

What are Good Friday & Easter Sunday truly about? JESUS! And this message about JESUS is presented in the GOSPEL. Paul summarizes the Gospel that he preached in this way:

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (ESV)

Please join us this weekend as we worship and celebrate JESUS: our crucified, buried, risen, and returning Lord!
