You're Invited to Missions Day at Mahaffey Camp!

Join us on Thursday, July 23, for Missions Day, sponsored by the Alliance Women of the Western Pennsylvania District. This special day brings together many of our International Workers and their families for a time of encouragement, fellowship, and celebration of what God is doing around the world.

If you've never experienced The Grove, you won't want to miss it! Open in the morning, The Grove is an incredible ministry that resembles a "Walmart" for our International Workers. Churches and individuals donate new items that IWs can take back to the field or use during home assignment—completely free of charge.

For churches planning to distribute items at The Grove, please:
- Check in at the Alliance Women tent before setting up your tables.
- Bring only new items.
- Do not bring expired food.

After The Grove, stay for our Missions Celebration at 1 p.m. featuring a colorful Parade of Nations and keynote speakers R and A, who serve in a Creative Access Country. Their stories and insights will inspire and challenge you as we celebrate God's work among the nations.

We hope you'll join us for this meaningful day of connecting with our International Workers, supporting global missions, and celebrating what God is doing around the world.

For more information, please contact Jenn DiAndreth, WPA District Director for Alliance Women.

We look forward to seeing you at Mahaffey Camp on July 23!

New Book Release: Adventures en Mission

Retired Western Pennsylvania District International Workers, David Bill and Teresa Bill, have shared their incredible missionary journey in their new book, Adventures en Mission, now available on Amazon.

From encounters with African wildlife and sinking boats to dramatic rescues in the midst of a war zone, this captivating collection of true stories reveals God's faithfulness through decades of ministry in Africa. Readers will be inspired by accounts of lives transformed through evangelism, teaching, hospitality, and a willingness to follow God's call wherever it led.

Former WPA pastor's wife Kitt Wattenphul describes the Bills as “Mr. and Mrs. Adventure,” noting that their stories demonstrate what it looks like to give everything so others can hear the hope of the Gospel.

Whether you enjoy missionary biographies, adventure stories, or testimonies of God's work around the world, Adventures en Mission is a book you won't want to miss.

International Worker Spotlight
Shawn and Becky serve as International Workers with The Alliance in West Africa. In this video, they share about the women’s collaborative group Becky is involved with and how God is opening new opportunities for International Workers to continue sharing the Gospel across Africa. Please keep them in prayer as they travel, as they minister to those affected by the recent fire in the slum community, and continue to pray for their children.

Justin grew up in Lancaster, PA the second of thirteen kids and was homeschooled. Though they did not attend church through the entirety of his childhood, Christianity played a big part in his upbringing. It was a major part of homeschooling and they always prayed before meals and bed. He also was influenced by his grandparents faith and walk. Growing up surrounded by such influences he confessed faith young but didn’t necessarily take it seriously till later.

One important moment for Justin took place before a home church meeting they did with some other large families. His dad sat him and a few of the siblings down to tell them that we needed to take it seriously and even though we might not have done much with church lately, it was important. Not long after, he began to read his dad’s Christian books. He began listening to sermons on Christian radio and reading the Bible. It was not long after that he felt the call to ministry - and started buying books. He now has a library of over 1000 plus books, not including ebooks. Even though he felt the call in his teens, he did not have the opportunity to preach till his late 20s. He became licensed through the Churches of God and served as a fill-in preacher in the denomination and several local churches.

Justin met his wife, Christy, while she was attending Lancaster Bible College. After they were married, they moved to western, PA where she is from. They are the parents of Hudson (5), Lincoln (3), Natalie (2), and a baby girl due in August. In addition to homeschooling the kids and her involvement in the church, Christy volunteers with a local Bible release-time ministry. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors, camping, and Crosley cars.

They first filled in at Clymer Alliance in May of 2025 after separate recommendations of Micah Yarger and a local Church of the Nazarene pastor for someone to fill in. They immediately felt at home. Justin was officially installed as pastor in February of 2026. They are thankful for the past year and looking forward to seeing what God will do. In addition to being a pastor, Justin also works as a purchaser for an HVAC company and does some mowing on the side.

Today’s the day! The new Children’s Missions Project for Casa de Alegría (“House of Joy”) officially begins!

This year, kids across WPA will help support a new community center on Isla La Calzada in El Salvador through the ministry of Rocky and Shaina Higgins and their local ministry partners. Casa de Alegría will be a safe, welcoming place where children can learn about Jesus, receive educational support, enjoy fun activities, and experience the love of Christ.

Our prayer is that this “House of Joy” will bring hope, comfort, and lasting impact to children and families in the community for generations to come.

Theme Verse – Jeremiah 31:13:
“I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”

The project runs June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027. Will you join us in bringing joy and hope to El Salvador?
