Matt 14:20. This verse is part of the events detailing Jesus feeding the 5,000. In it Jesus provides for the physical needs of many, following his ministering to their spiritual needs. We all have experienced physical hunger at one point or another. But what about our souls?
Are you spiritually hungry? Do you long to know the Lord, or to know him better?
Your spiritual hunger can be filled only by God. His love for you shown in His salvation plan through Jesus His Son (in short, the gospel) is the ultimate food for your soul.
What can you do to know Him?
For one thing - get in his Word!
Find a Bible you will read and understand. (Look up 2 Timothy 3:16) There are a number of good translations. Make it a priority. Just do it!

What is your favorite Bible translation and why?

Matthew 6: 26-30
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

JUNE 19, 2026 Bible reading Matthew 10:24-39
Todays verse Matthew 10:32, "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven."
Always remember that God's promises hold true and he never forgers them. V.32 is a promise to memorize and never forget. If we stay true in our faith to Jesus, he will stay true to us and bring us joyfully to our heavenly Father and eternal home. Rejoice now and always in your faith.
Thank you Jesus for the joy we share because of your sacrifice for us and the joy we will share one day in heaven. Amen.
(Sam Crossley)
