Hello and Happy Saturday!

Please join us tomorrow for Sunday School at 10:00AM and our Worship Service at 11:00AM.

Pastor Nolen's Sermon tomorrow will be "A Lesson to Remember" from the New Testament Scripture: Matthew 28:16-20

(16)Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. (17)When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. (18)Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (19)Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20)and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Hello Everyone!

WE WILL HAVE OUR HOMECOMING ON JUNE 7th, 2026 THIS YEAR! This is a day to invite all our past and current members to gather, enjoy a great service at 11:00AM, and have a meal immediately afterward to celebrate what God has done on Mount Pisgah for over 200 years!

NOT ONLY DOES MOUNT PISGAH HAVE A BLESSED PAST, BUT WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT GOD WILL DO IN THE FUTURE. So, please invite your friends and relatives who might become part of that future!

PLUS, IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND WOULD LIKE TO VISIT OUR FRIENDLY LITTLE CHURCH, please come see us and stay for a meal with us!

AS PART OF THE CELEBRATION, WE WILL BE POSTING BITS OF OUR HISTORY LEADING UP TO HOMECOMING. Below is a paragraph from W. Thomas Carden’s “History of Pisgah” that was published in the Pulaski Record in 1904.

"Pisgah is noted far and near on account of its being, and having been, prominent as a site for religious worship. The chief feature in its history is the church and camp meetings. The first camp meeting at Mt. Pisgah was in 1811 and held near where William Oliver lived about half a mile north of Mt. Pisgah Church. Dissatisfaction arising regarding the location led to the camp meetings being moved on top of the hill and the name Mount Pisgah was given the place. In 1812 the camp meeting was held at Mount Pisgah and kept up for many years."

HOPE TO SEE YOU SUNDAY, JUNE 7th!

PLEASE JOIN US THIS SUNDAY FOR PENTECOST

What is Pentecost? Of all the feasts of the Jewish year, it was the festival of Pentecost that attracted the largest number of pilgrims from distant lands.

Just a few days before Pentecost, when He ascended to Heaven, Jesus had told his disciples: "For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:5)

Then, this happened: "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them." (Acts 2:1-3)

God picked the busiest day of the year to send His Holy Spirit so those who believed could become His "witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

THIS SUNDAY, YOU ARE WELCOME TO CELEBRATE PENTECOST WITH US!

Per tradition, (if you can) please wear something red to symbolize the red flames of the Holy Spirit that descended that day! And, thank God that we can still receive His Holy Spirit today!

What a wonderful Easter it's been, celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus! And, the story continues...

After His Resurrection, Jesus appeared to many, including that afternoon on the Road to Emmaus. As told in Luke 24:13-35, Jesus walks with two disheartened disciples, unrecognized, explaining how the scriptures foretold his suffering and resurrection. Their eyes are opened when he breaks bread, after which they recognize him, and their sadness turns to joy.
----------
Now that same day, two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them, but they were kept from recognizing him.

He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”

They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these last few days?”

“What things?” he asked.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.
