It is with deep regret that we announce:
Andrew Jackson Young, age 96,was born on May 12, 1929 in Goodspring, TN to Andrew Jackson Young and Rosa Lee Ezell Young. He transitioned at his residence on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
He was a high school graduate, a member of Ebeneezer Missionary Baptist Church, Goodspring, TN, and a retired employee of Gabriel, Pulaski, TN. Additionally, he worked in the demolition business and later at Kroger Groceries Louisville, KY, before returning to Giles County Tennessee.
The family will receive friends on Sat., August 16, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 12 Noon with the funeral following at Ebeneezer Missionary Baptist Church 644 Fall River Road Goodspring, TN. Reverend Fitzgerald Gilbert, Eulogist. Burial will be in Goodspring Cemetery.
Survivors include; one sister Mae Etta Marshall, one son, Andrew Jackson Young, Jr., Local Survivors, Cousins, Lois, Macklin, Shirley Macklin and Laura Moody and a host of other relative and friends.

I thank GOD and thank you for your kindness. One year ago today, I was with the wife, mother, sister and her husband, an aunt and two first cousins at our local hospital when the Reverend Randall Lee Webster, DMin. transitioned. He served as the Manager of The Rose of Sharon Funeral Service, Pulaski, TN. Prior to his departing this life, he had completed the paperwork required for the Direct Cremation of the loved one of a local resident. With him, it had to be right! Lift up his survivors, the Bethel Chapel AMEC Family, Columbia, TN along with the Staff members of Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Fayetteville, TN, The Rose of Sharon Funeral Service, Pulaski, TN and of V. K. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, TN.

During the Lenten season at Union Combined Parish in Boston. In 2024, historically Black Union United Methodist Church in the South End merged with three other congregations— Old West Church in the West End, Community Church in Brighton, and Glendale Church in Everett — to form a new worship community.

Wouldn't it be nice if three to four small Missionary BaptiSt Churches blended together?

What if the AME's could/would see the light! Provide affordable day care, housing, and the source of "Real History" in Charter Schools or the nucleus for home schools.
With all of the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree holders, begin P E District schooling for those interested in ministry.

Producers of fruit, promoters of Christian Marriage, and working from the ground up. Change out the perfunctory religion to a Holy Ghost Spirit filled movement.

Antoine (Antonio) Roosevelt Whitfield, age 65, died October 16, 2024 at Nashville's Summit Medical Center. He was a high school graduate, a member of the Baptist Faith and was an employee for several yearse at Ardmore Industries.

The family will receive friends on Sat., October 26, 2024 beginning at 11 a.m. at The Farmer's Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Association Tabernacle 131 Baugh Road Elkton, TN. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 NOON, with Elder Michael Hunphres, Officiating. Burial will be in The Union Hill Cemetery, Dixon Town Road, behind Union Hill M. B. Church.

The family will receive friends on Sat., October 19, 2024 at Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church 409 South Main Street, Mount Pleasant, TN from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 NOON, with The Celebration of Life at 12:00 NOON. FLOWERS MAY BE DELIVERED TO THE CHURCH BEGINNING AT 10 A.M.

GOD enabled the 70/70 to gather together on Saturday, September 21, 2024, Fellowship, food, and bingo were for the older classmates. The women looked cute, the brothers looked muscular while an old man like me had to be in before dark. Looking forward to the 3rd Saturday in September of 2025.

I'm thankful for the ride with Brothers Joe Davis and Cousin Junior Davidson. I can't believe that I lost my car keys and my Buick is still at The Davis' residence, The lock smith will be there tomorrow between 12:00 Noon & 3 p.m.. Next year, it will be cheaper to just leave the keys in the car. I've already asked a lady friend to be my date for next year and that I would have her back home by 5 p.m.

Back in April of this year, the former Powell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church was vandalized. The grassy grounds were damaged by the spinning and sliding of vehicle wheels, plus the sign with the lettering “Powell Chapel Memorial Center” and right below the wording “The Rose Of Sharon Funeral Service” was covered with mud on both sides.

The Giles County Sherri's Department quickly responded and began an investigation. Neighbors are still reviewing their recordings of the properties. Findings will be turn over to Law Enforcement, for prosecution, according to retired pastor William H. Smith. Reminded the officers of the incidents which occurred in neighboring Maury County at three congregations that serve the African American communities. Plus it takes evil people to desecrate the burial grounds for those laid to rest hundreds of years ago!

Presently, the Giles County Sheriff's Department is requesting the public's assistance from the community churches. Several local churches have become victims to vandalism and burglary throughout Giles County. Investigations are ongoing and patrol has been increased. Sheriff Kyle Helton is asking the community to help with frequently checking the churches in hopes that increased presence will act as a deterrent for criminals. If anyone has any information regarding the recent crimes please contact 911 or by calling the Sheriff’s Department @ 931-363-3505.

Good day!
The big meeting held in Columbus, Ohio ended, Aug. 29, 2024. For the next four years the committee on inclusion will probably get their legislation passed. Many of those who voted no will be unable to vote the measure down because of illness or death called their name.

So, here's my opinion which various AME Theologians would shoot at because of its simplicity. Here goes!

EASY AS 1 2 3
Prior to the Processional at St Paul Church, the choir would fill the sanctuary singing, “Holiness becometh thine house”.

The Holiness is the theological foundation that sanctification is te act of God’s grace that cleanses believers of original sin. We must carefully observe and renounce temptation, so that a believer can lead a sin-free life.

Marriage our sexuality to be lived out in the covenantal union between one woman and one man.

Candidates for ministry/ordination must demonstrate purity. S*x outside of a heterosexual marriage is considered impure and openly LGBTQ+ candidates would be denied licensing/ordination.

USE MOTHER WIT! My relative who worked at the DNC held in Chicago, IL will be out of pocket for no less that five days, why? Covid!

Now, I wonder how many of those in Columbus, OH will return to their various Episcopal Districts, Conferences local churches and residences with symptoms?

Locally, there are students in school classrooms with symptoms!

My appointment to get the covid booster vaccine is Sept 30th. Plus the flu vaccine is to be administered.

Because of the un-natural weather conditions (extreme heat) its cheaper for me to stay inside than become dehydrated and have an ambulance ride to the hospital. Old folk like me are dying because of the temperatures in the upper 90's with a heat index of 100+.

I will continue to trust GOD, attend the services of the local church without hesitation. I'm glad to be able to go into the House of The Lord while I have a chance for I may not have a chance again.
