We know, Lord, You have said that there is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 48:22). And what is peace but rest to our souls? But those who cease from their own works and rest in You find true peace. You bid us be busy at work, Lord, but in the midst of activity for Your glory, You bid our hearts rest at peace on the merits of Your Son. Amen.

O Jehovah my Shepherd, You are the Good Shepherd whoever cares for His sheep. Help me to follow and trust You not only in the green pastures but also through the valley of the shadow of death. No other shepherd can compare to You, Lord, and we Your sheep flee from the voice of strangers, for we know only the voice of our true Shepherd. Amen.

O Righteous Father, all of Your decisions and all of Your actions are just. You, Lord, love righteousness and demand it in us. But we are unrighteous by birth; we were conceived and born fallen creatures. We are Your children, wearing the righteousness of Your Son. Help us to live righteously before You and do those things that please You. Amen

O Lord, my hope is in You alone. Let all of my hopes be founded upon Your promises and on Your clear leadings in my life. If you put a good desire in my heart to serve You in a particular way, may that hope not perish if it is truly found to be will. But let me not make the transient treasures and pleasures of this life my hope. Amen.

Make me a fervent servant, busy for Your Kingdom, Lord. Let me rise up and strive after You with all my might. We are all in a fight of faith that we cannot win by sitting idle. Work in us to will and do of Your good pleasure, and let us be a people zealous for good works. Amen.

O Lord, You have poured down untold blessings of grace upon the head of Your people, but the world is hostile to You, Your Word, and Your children. We walk like Daniel among lions, but You can shut the mouths of the lions. We shine as lights in a pitch-black night, but the darkness cannot overcome the light. We will not fear man, for if God is for us, who can prevail against us? Amen.

Lord Jesus, may I never be ashamed of You or of Your words. May I never shrink before men to speak Your name in season or to declare Your truths in the right way and time and place. Give me wisdom but also zeal, zeal for Your name and for Your Word. Amen.

How fearful are Your judgments, O God! None can escape Your justice by fleeing or hiding or by argument. You judged the world once with a flood, and again a judgment by fire will come. Your judgments are just, O Lord! We pray for those who do not know You, that they may run to their only hope, even to Your Son Jesus Christ, before it is too late for them. Amen.

Lord God Almighty, Your name is too glorious for me to even begin to comprehend. Your ways are exalted above mine like the heavens above the earth, and I cannot fully understand them. But I praise You, O Lord, with true knowledge from Your Word as to who You are. And I have experienced Your love and power in my life. For that I praise You also. However incomplete, I will praise You with all of my ability. Amen.

You give us true hope, Lord, hope that is based on the surest thing in all the universe, even on Your promise. Give us the faith to hope for things yet unseen; give us the patience to endure all things without losing sight of our hope. You, Lord, are our Hope and our everlasting Reward. Amen.
