This weekend we pause to remember and honor the brave GOLD STAR servicemen and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom will never be forgotten.

Behind every hero is a family who carries both pride and pain. Together we lift up the Gold Star families in prayer — praying for comfort in moments of sorrow, strength for each new day, and peace that only God can provide.

May we never take for granted the price that was paid for the freedoms we enjoy. Let us live with gratitude, honor their legacy with purpose, and continue to stand beside the families who carry their memory forward.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

As we enter the 2026 Season of Pentecost, also known as the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot), we reflect upon one of the most significant appointed times in Scripture. In 2026, the Festival of Weeks began at sundown on May 21 and continues through May 23. This Biblical feast celebrated the first fruits of the wheat harvest (Exodus 34:22) and, for Spirit-filled believers, also commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the New Testament Church recorded in Acts chapter 2. Pentecost remains a meaningful season to honor God’s faithfulness, rejoice in the work of the Holy Spirit, and renew our commitment to walk in His peace, wisdom, and power. PerryStone.org

In Exodus, 10 day journey from Egypt to Mount Saini, Moses was with God for 40 days on the mount gives us Fifty Days-Pentecost. Moses descended the mountain with the Law (demonstrates the separation between people and God) on the Day of Pentecost in Acts the Holy Spirit descended connecting people with God.
After 40 days when Moses returned he was faced with two groups, the people separated by actions formed by their attitudes and their attitudes formed by their opinions and feelings. Hope vs Fear.
Positive Actions / Attitudes
• Some people were likely waiting expectantly for Moses to return.
• A remnant remained faithful to God.
• Aaron eventually confessed what happened.
• The Levites responded quickly to Moses’ call for repentance and obedience.
• The people later mourned and repented after judgment came.
• Israel eventually renewed their covenant with God.
Negative Actions / Attitudes
• The people became impatient waiting for Moses.
• They doubted whether Moses would return.
• They pressured Aaron to make them a god they could see.
• They made and worshiped the golden calf.
• They practiced idolatry instead of worshiping God.
• They offered sacrifices to the idol.
• They celebrated with wild partying and immoral behavior.
• They ignored God’s commandments.
• They became spiritually rebellious and disobedient.
• They turned quickly away from the covenant God had made with them.
• They credited the idol for delivering them from Egypt instead of God.
• They were spiritually undisciplined and easily influenced.
Key Scripture References Exodus 32:1–35
Take this opportunity for self-examination, which actions taken by the people reflect your actions, attitudes, opinions, fears…? Respond to the conviction and affirmation of the Holy Spirit.
