Yes! For generations, Mesquite has been used as a food source. At Cappadona Ranch, we’re keeping that tradition alive—one bean at a time. 🤎

🌺 MEET THE FLAVOR: HIBISCUS + MESQUITE
If you’ve never tasted hibiscus, think bright, slightly tart and wonderfully refreshing.
Hibiscus has a naturally tangy, almost cranberry-like flavor that pairs beautifully with the warm, earthy sweetness of Texas Mesquite.
Together, they create a jelly that is colorful, distinctive and just the right balance of sweet and tart.
Try it with cream cheese and crackers, on warm biscuits or toast, or add it to a charcuterie board for something a little unexpected.
Texas Mesquite with a tropical twist.

This summer, we’ve been hard at work doing what we’ve done for years—watching the trees, walking the land, and harvesting Texas Mesquite beans. 🌿
Mesquite harvest is never predictable. It depends on the rain, the heat, the timing of the blooms, and what Mother Nature decides to give us. This year has certainly kept us on our toes, but our team has continued working hard to gather the beans that are ready and make the most of every part of the season.

Yesterday, we had a quiet visitor stop by the cookhouse.

She wandered in without a sound, paused to graze for a few minutes, looked up as if to make sure we were simply watching, and then went right back to enjoying her lunch.

It's easy to think of a ranch as fences, cattle, and hard work. But it's also home to countless wild neighbors who have lived on this land long before us.

Moments like these are a gentle reminder that we're not just managing the land—we're sharing it.

Watching wildlife move freely through the mesquite and native grasses is one of the greatest rewards of ranch life, and it's something we never take for granted.
