12th Sunday in the Parking Lot since the pandemic hit. We are having a great time worshipping outside and God has blessed in so many ways. Like being able to present Randy Martinez with his first Bible and kids praising God and saying Amen from the roof tops. God is still in control. What a mighty God we serve.

11 For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” - Luke 14:11
Anytime someone tries to exult themselves they will always be humbled, but this seems to be the world’s way. “Look at me and how important I am.” However, Jesus says that anyone who wants to be exalted Has to be humbled first. Why do we look at the way the world does things before we go to God’s Word and to God himself to find his way. We can never ever be truly exalted if we are looking to be exalted. Humble yourself before God.

Matthew 5:4,”Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
This scripture truly is telling us that when we hurt from the loss of one of our dear loved ones, God is there to bring comfort and peace to our grieving. However, the other part of this scripture is also telling us that the ones who mourn for the sin that we all put Jesus through on the cross, and it was our sin that sent Him there, that when we realize and when we are truly broken-hearted because of what we did to Him, and what Jesus did for us and we mourn. That is when Jesus comes to us to show us just how much He loves us and comforts through the Holy Spirit. He comforts us by the promise of eternity with Him.

We at First Church of God would like to thank all those who helped make our Schoola Palooza backpack giveaway a great success. We would like to think fire station three for bringing their trucks and equipment. We would also like to think Mark and Carol Rickman and Tundra the mascot from CSU-P. It was an honor to have Mr. Taylor Voss from School District 60 present. We would also like to think the CSUP football team for sending Mr. Cayman Graduno from it’s team. We were happy to host Principal Jimmy Poole and his staff and teachers and at this event. We are praying for Carlile Elementary School as they start the new year.
