Our annual Green Chile Cook-off was a complete success on Sunday! A huge thank you to everyone who brought green chile (21 total entries) and all the food we got to share and enjoy. The kids had their work cut out for them with the piñata this year but after working on it for awhile they got the candy inside. Congratulations to our winners this year, Mike Sepulveda took first place with his green Chile entry. Second place belonged to Miss Dora Casteneda. Finally Jeff Gray took home third place! This year we were blessed to bring in some visitors as our judges. We are very thankful for all of their willingness to show up and be a part of our friends day and judge the green Chile entries. It wasn’t easy with 21 total and some of them having some considerable heat. Our judges this year were Chief Judge Noah Commerford the president of the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Louie Aguilar the owner of Aguilars Barber Styling, Mrs. Gerda Chavez the owner of The Sunset bringing her green Chile expertise! She brought some family that helped judge as well. Shawn Gibbons served as a judge bringing his experience from the Sunset and their green Chile. Finally Cassie Gibbons and Lexi Chavez Gonzales came in and helped break up a tie in end. Thank you again to everyone and congratulations to our winners!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our annual All-Skate night at Skate City Pueblo on the 25th of November! Lots of fun was had by all and we collected lots of food for our pantry! We hope you all enjoyed it!

Sorry for the delay on the pictures, but thanks to everyone that came to our picnic in the park in August! We had plenty of chicken and lots of fun. Thanks again for everyone who brought food and enjoyed the fellowship with us!

Want to say thank you to everyone that came out to last weeks annual 4th of July Pig Roast! The food was great and everyone enjoyed the evening of fellowship together! Thanks again for everyone that pitched in and helped!

Thanks to everyone who made today’s 19th annual Chile Cookoff such a great success! We had 21 total entries and deciding a winner was tough! Thanks to our five judges, Bryce Myers, Makenzie Myers, Alice Secora, Peyton Bennett, and our chief judge Emma Bennett. Though the testing was tough they were able to narrow it down to three winners. Our first place winner was a newly baptized member of the East Side Church of Christ, Estevan Encina. Second and third place were won by Nina Ortivez and Joe Armijo. Congratulations to everyone who submitted an entry, it made for a tasty day! The dessert tables were out of this world, and a special thanks to Lori Riggs for the cupcakes and decoration on them. Thanks to Annie Aragon for decorating the back and all those who helped her. Bre Mosley made her delicious salsa that was at every table, so again thank you to her! Thanks also to all of Annie’s family that made the fresh sopapillas, they were a huge hit! Our ladies in the kitchen were amazing as always so thank you all for helping these days so much easier! Big shout outs to Liz, Juana, Shirley, and Annie. Finally thank you again to everyone who brought food, helped set up and clean up, and made today such a big hit. Huge thank you to everyone that came out to our annual Southwest All Skate last night at Skate City Pueblo. We had 80 people in attendance which was the biggest turnout since 2017!! More importantly we collected several totes full of donations for our pantry and holiday baskets to go out in December. Again, we can’t thank you all enough!

Thanks to everyone who came out for a great time at our annual trunk or treat last night! We had a great turnout and while a little on the cool side, the weather was great! Fun was had by everyone, congratulations to all our winners as well. Enjoy the pictures from the evening including the trunks, the costumes, and pictures from the donut eating contest! The winners of the best costume were Jon and Lori Riggs as the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. The best trunk went to the Montelongo family with their Sandlot themed trunk. Thank you again for all the fun, if you are missing anything you brought last night, catch Kyler or Taylor at worship services on Sunday and we will get it back to you.
