Benedictine Order of St. Michael the Archangel An ecumenical Benedictine order of women and men, clergy & laity, without regard to marital status, following a modified Rule of Benedict. of Denver, Colorado.

In September of 1993, The Rev. Mother Teresa Margaret Wilson (now Bishop Wilson) took perpetual vows as a Benedictine and founded the Benedictine Order of St. Michael the Archangel, Inc. The Order was incorporated in June of 1993. The process of obtaining a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status was then begun and was received in January of 1995. Vows:
In seeking spiritual perfection in this life, the brothers and sisters become the bride of Christ through the three evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Recommended corollaries to these are vows of perseverance and stability. Loving God means doing everything, everyday in the way that God prefers us to act, because we want to please him and serve him faithfully in this life: more so when it is inconvenient or against one's own personal preferences. This includes bearing our own feelings and wants for ourselves, and silently bowing our wills to our superiors who are responsible to our God for us. The brother or sister who gives over his/her freedom will, and takes whatever is given or stated to him/her by the lawful superior, just as Christ, in deference to his/her own wants does the will of God. One is called a religious because he/she freely vows to follow the evangelical counsels and to keep each one under pain of sin. The vows consecrate the brothers/sisters to our Lord and are the best ways to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
