Women's Outreach of Hope

Women's Outreach of Hope Whether it is a problem with alcohol, opioids, cocaine or any other substance, addiction kills thousands of Americans every year and impacts millions of lives.

Oklahoma has the highest rate of incarceration per capita of women, which is the equivalent of 157 women out of every 100,000. More than 60% of women in state prisons have a child under the age of 18 and that percentage is higher in Oklahoma. Addiction rips apart families and throws children into the foster care system. Women who come to us are powerless for a combination of reasons. To genuinely

be able to help them the approach must be broad based, individually tailored and cover a sufficient time span to effect a permanent change. With the help of God’s word they can learn a new way of living and begin to realize their God- given potential of being the loving center of their very own home. We promote family reunification which requires supporting the family as well as the addict as they begin to heal and rebuild relationships. Hope House surrounds families with love and support in safe housing as we help them with employment resources and skills, opportunities to acquire their GED and continue their education or to address health issues as they begin their recovery journey. We can offer our program for 16 women on site concurrently who are recovering from drug or alcohol abuse, from abusive situations, or coming out of incarceration. Hope House provides a curriculum lasting from 6 to 9 months which includes tools to help them to overcome the strongholds of addiction by revealing destructive thinking and also teaching them problem solving skills. Classes to teach positive parenting, and how to avoid relapse are also taught as well as counseling directed toward the promotion of their spiritual growth. Women leave Hope House empowered to make wise, healthy life decisions so they can transition back into society. We provide them with furniture and housekeeping items and deposits, which are stock piled for them during their stay with us. Assistance in moving all their belongings into their own dwelling place after course graduation is happily provided. We find that follow up visits and loving support after they leave is essential for establishing their new life as they become a part of our extended family network. We operate Hope houses with an all-volunteer Christian staff which includes women who have graduated from our program. We estimate $5,400 to be the cost of rescuing one family through our comprehensive program. The most significant way to help us serve these families is with a recurring financial donation which can easily be scheduled on this web site. Volunteers are needed to drive our ladies to various appointments or to provide one on one mentoring support. Churches or organizations are welcome to sponsor improvement projects involving our houses or fund raising events. It has been said that a mother is the heart of every family and together we can make them strong again. Would you please consider becoming a partner with us as we change the world one woman at a time?
