Fast 2026 Blog Day 9.
Hello Church Family:
The communion table is a sacred place where we pause, reflect, and draw near to the heart of the Father. It is not a place of fear or condemnation, but a place of grace, mercy, and restoration.
Scripture invites us to examine our hearts as we come before the Lord:
1 Corinthians 11:28 (NLT)
“That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup.”
This examination is not meant to push us away from God—it is an invitation to come closer. At the table, we allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts, gently revealing anything that may be hindering our walk with Him. And as He reveals, He also heals.
The communion table reminds us that we come not by our own righteousness, but by the finished work of the cross. It is a place where burdens are laid down, hearts are softened, and grace is received. Here, we remember that Jesus’ body was broken and His blood was poured out so that we could be forgiven, restored, and made whole.
When we come with humble and sincere hearts, the table becomes a place of renewal. We are reminded that His grace is sufficient, His mercy is new every morning, and His love never fails.
As you prepare your heart today, know this—there is room at the table. The Father welcomes you just as you are, and He meets you with compassion and grace. Leave the table strengthened, cleansed, and encouraged, knowing that you are deeply loved.
During this fast, it is especially meaningful to take communion and reflect on the price Jesus paid for us on the cross. Let it be a holy moment of remembrance, gratitude, and surrender as we draw closer to Him.
May we always approach the communion table with reverence, gratitude, and faith, allowing the Lord to examine us and fill us anew with His grace.
