Hi. This is the Prunedale church of Christ. We sure have been having some crazy and unsure times lately. It's times like these when it is good to reflect on our faith. I'm reminded of the time when Jesus was asleep on the boat and the waves went over the ship and Jesus had to be woken... What was his response? "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Sometimes when things get rough we forget who is in control. Jesus in his sermon on the mount in: Matthew 6:30 “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Have we forgotten that God will take care of us. Being in the delivery business and delivering to the grocery stores I see the fear and panic and long lines, I see the masks people are in a state of panic... We need to sit back, take a deep breath, and relax. Don't be afraid God is in control. This of course is conditional as are all the promises of God. Are you seeking first the Kingdom of God? (Matt. 6:33) Do you have a Kingdom first mentality? This is what God expects. In times of fear and anxiousness it's time to reflect on one of the most popular texts of the Bible Psalms 23: This personally gives me so much comfort. It can only give comfort if the Lord is your shepherd. Is He? Look at what this Psalm of David says. Was his life perfect? He had issues galore. Yet he said, He makes me lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul: He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Notice vs. 4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I fear no evil, for You are with me: (You may want to think about this if you are the type of Christian who ran to Costco and purchased 1 pallet of toilet paper). Think and dwell on the blessings that you have in this life and remember they come from God. He is the giver of every good and perfect gift. "Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Have a blessed day everyone!
