Today "Questions from a sinner" comes from 2 individuals most people have great respect for Abraham Lincoln and King David and is related to what is currently going on in our country. On Jan. 27, 1838, Lincoln spoke before the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, about "the perpetuation of our political institutions." During that address, he said: "At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by su***de. Psalm 37 1-13
Of David.
1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy peace and prosperity.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.
I a sinner's Question for today is two fold. 1. Did we as adult turn a blind eye on the training of our children to research what they hear and not just to believe it because they read it on Facebook or someone like a teacher or newscaster told them so? Impart from even though we know the Good News and the spreading of the Gospel will never stop. 2. Have we as a people of todays USA became the authors and finishers Lincoln warned about?

Todays question is linked a Christian fellowship study I did with a group of fellows who even though there names have changed over the past 20+ years still meet on Thursday morning in Lakeland Florida. This study was on discipleship and was one of the most powerful studies I have ever been involved with. At the end of the study a member of our group John Shannon who has since passed on to the Kingdom of God gave each of us the coin pictured in this post. This scripture Ephesians 6:10-19
New International Version
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. I carry this coin with me always as a reminder and a witness to others when I pull change out of my pocket . I have to admit at times I have fail at each of these. Probably I have fail the most with vs 15 "The feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." Todays Questions from a sinner "ME" is which one of these do you feel you fail the most at.

Mr. Richard Johnson 1972

Today I would like to talk about a very special teacher I had at Pontiac Central High school in 1972. Mr. Richard Johnson who taught English, not one of my better subjects. Of course that included sentence structure "YUCK". However I need to tell you that he had been a friend of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. Mr. Johnson made copies of the letters he had received from Dr. King why he was in prison and passed them out to us all to break down the sentence structure, HOW COOL IS THAT? For a brief moment in my life sentence structure became Fun. I also saw a side of Dr. King and what he stood for in a new light along with having even more respect for Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson helped form my attitudes toward people and how God takes individuals and uses some of them in extra ordinary ways. He also let me use my Bible to do small book report in his class which allowed me to talk about God. HOW EXTRA COOL IS THAT!!! Todays question is did you have and special teacher in your life and if so why were they special to you?

I spent my high school years as one of the first student in a government experiment to improve race in America called "Forced Bussing". I didn't have to, as a matter of fact my mother was totally against it and like many of my friends were doing she wanted me to go to a "Safe Private School". However, I felt a strong tugging to go and I think my father knowing me told her to give in. A large part of my personality was developed in that government experiment and may of the stories and questions in this blog will come from those 3 years. Todays question might be a little tough for some of you. Which choice would you have made Private School or Government Experiment?

The year is 1971 and at Grace Lutheran youth group we were discussing scripture on Jesus teaching on forgiveness. When we read Matt 6:14 & 15 "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive you." I though Uh-oh. There was this kid at Pontiac Central who was always nasty towards me and I had no idea why. But I decided I must forgive him so the next day I approached him and said something to the effect that I had no idea why he was such an a***e, {@ Pontiac Central you had to be tough} but I forgive you. I don't think he excepted my forgiveness but he left me alone after that. Todays question is who did you not verbally forgive and wished you had?

Questions from a Sinner
As a young lad in the mid 60s we took an Easter vacation to Fort Walton Beach Florida from our home in Pontiac Michigan. On the way we stopped a small store/deli in a town in Alabama for lunch supplies. My father was excited to get pastrami and asked if they had pumpernickel bread. The deli clerk said "I wish we did but we don't sell black color bread." Todays Question....What Type of bread do you thick Jesus would eat his pastrami on. White, Whole Wheat, Rye or Pumpernickel?
