The story of Christ washing the feet of his disciples is one of the most impactful of his ministry

Following the pattern of the way he lived his life, he put others first

Jesus was about to be crucified

He knew what was to come only a few hours later in the Garden

He knew this would be the last night he had with his disciples. They very men who left it all to travel and serves alongside the Savior for those 3 years

Despite all of those things, Jesus put aside his needs and comfort to be of service yet again

It didn't matter that he was about to die

It didn't matter that he was soon to experience every pain and every sorrow ever to be felt by mankind

None of that mattered

Jesus wanted to serve

When we are going through trials and tough times in life, the best remedy is learned from the example of our Savior

Jesus wanted to serve

One morning many years ago the morning came as it always did

Birds were chirping

The sun was shining

Flowers were all in bloom

But on this particular morning something was different

In a quiet and lowly garden, a stone had been rolled away

The old garden tomb that had been covered the night before was now open

The man who had been placed inside the tomb was gone

He was risen

And because he rose, I too will RISE

Because he rose, you will also RISE

The difference of that morning was one that changed the course of humanity FOREVER

Death was conquered

Man was made free

HE WAS RISEN

And

HE STILL LIVES

My heart is full today🤍

Last April, President Nelson announced that there would be a temple constructed in Tampa, Florida! Today, the drawing for that temple was released and it is going to be STUNNING!!

I have such tender and strong feelings about these temples because the work done inside has changed my life

I can say with complete confidence that my family will not be separated at death because of the work done in these sacred buildings

Right before my mission, I had the chance to enter the temple with my family as my little sister Ashtynn was sealed to us. A couple of months later, my family was able to enter once again so my little brother Ian could be sealed to us as well!

These are holy and sacred buildings. They truly are dedicated houses to the Lord and while inside, the veil between heaven and earth is so much thinner!

I'm feeling so blessed to know that my hometown will be gaining one of these beautiful and powerful temples🤍

Hey y'all, real talk for a sec

Life is HARD
Making decisions is HARD
Growing up is HARD
School is HARD
Trying to represent Christ in a darkening world is HARD

Life has been pretty crazy for me recently as I'm about to make some pretty big changes in my life

It's super scary and recently I've found myself super overwhelmed and stressed with everything going on in my life

This past week had been a tough one cause I'm one who tries to solve everything going on in my life at once (it's my toxic trait...we can be vulnerable here lol)

Today in my church meetings, one of the speakers talked about how Christ commands us to take up our cross

He commands us to lift that heavy thing (whatever it may be) and continue following him through whatever lies ahead

It that scary, ABSOLUTELY

But the amazing part is that Jesus never leaves me alone, and I'm here to tell y'all he won't leave you alone either

He carried his cross feeling arguably as alone as ever

Now, promises to ease the weight of our personal cross cause he's promised to never leave us alone

He will be with us always ❤️

"Wherefore, the Lord hath commanded me to make these plates for a wise purpose in him, which purpose I know not." (1 Nephi 9:5)

How many times in our lives do we receive a commandment or a prompting from God that we don't understand?

How many times upon receiving those commandments/promptings do we question the Lord with why?

I was in my class this morning with Elder Brad R. Wilcox and he talked about God's Wise Purposes

Elder Wilcox shared that majority of the times that we recieve this kind of inspiration from God, the time has not come for us to know the purpose. This moments are intended for us to exercise the faith we have in the Father

When the time comes for us to gain a full understanding of God's purposes, he WILL make it known unto us. And we WILL understand God's perfect plan and we WILL be able to see how his had was involved the whole time

Those who know me well know that the mountains are a safe place for me

Here in Provo there is no shortage of these breathtaking views and each day I'm reminded of a powerful principle

OUR GOD RULES THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS

Read that again...

This life is full of both mountains and valleys

Sometimes we feel like we're on top of the world, like nothing will ever take us down

Other times, we feel like we're at the lowest of lows and those mountains seem impossible to reach

At those times, when I'm feeling at my lowest, I've learned to lift my eyes

Having an eternal perspective is so important

This life is a test and it's HARD sometimes...but we have the promise that Jesus is right there with us

He'll descend however far he needs to in order to guide us back to the top of that mountain

And when we get there we can look back and see we were NEVER alone

The view is ALWAYS worth it

Merry Christmas Y'all!!!

My heart is full this beautiful Christmas morning with gratitude for the gift of a Savior

I was thinking back this morning to a conversation I had with one of my roommates a couple weeks ago regarding the Wise Men and their role in the Christmas Story

We know that the Wise Men brought gifts to the Savior of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But, there is more to this story...

We know from the Bible that the Wise Men arrived to Jesus when he was roughly 2 years old. At this same time, King Herod sent out a decree that all male children of the age of 2 were to be put to death. My roomate and I had a great discussion about God's timing and the likelihood that these gifts brought by the Wise Men were used to pay for the swift journey to Egypt made by Joseph and Mary to protect Jesus

Like the gifts brought by the Wise Men, we've all been given gifts that have the power to bless the lives of others. The Wise Men likely didn't know the impact these gifts had on Mary and Joseph

Likewise, we may never know the impact our gifts have on others but it can be life changing

Today, amidst the giving and receiving of gifts, let's reflect on the ways we can use our personal gifts to bless and serve those around us

Merry Christmas Y'all 🎄

My heart is back in Georgia today

Its crazy to me how the spirit will often bring to my mind memories of lessons I learned as a missionary

God knows us, ok :)

Today I was reminded of an experience I had about a year ago around the holidays.

I was serving in an area where most of our work was concentrated in one particular trailer park. We came to know everyone there and had some pretty amazing spiritual experiences in that area. One night, my companions and I were teaching a lady in the tiny front yard of her trailer. We were all in camp chairs, she had a trash fire burning in the middle of the circle to keep us warm, all the trailers had Christmas lights, we could hear people singing spanish Christmas songs, and we were blessed with a beautiful sunset that evening.

As we sat there and taught about the Restoration of the Gospel, the spirit was sooo strong...but at that moment, the Lord was actually teaching me. As I looked around, I saw people who I knew. People who's stories of survival and hopes for a better life I was well aware of. And there they were...SO HAPPY

These people were in a foreign country (many of them their first holiday season away from their own country), they were trying desperately to learn English, they worked sun up to sun down everyday hoping that one day those long hours would pay off.
However, despite their circumstances, they were some of the HAPPIEST people I've ever known.

President Nelson has said, "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives"

I learned that lesson sitting in a humble trailer park, preparing to spend my first Christmas ever away from my own family. However, that circumstance didn't hinder my joy, because I was focused on sharing the Light of Jesus Christ.

If y'all are feeling like you're in a time where your joy is being hindered due to a circumstance, shift your focus to the one who brings eternal joy

Our Savior Jesus Christ is the source of everlasting joy and happiness.

Recently one of my roomates should me this song and y'all, I'M IN LOVE!!

With Jesus I'M SO BLESSED!!

Growing up I always had people ask me why I was so happy and the answer to that question is JESUS!!

Jesus did the unimaginable because he loves us.

When it feels like nobody understands, look up, cause Jesus does.

Today, I had the chance to go to a phenomenal devotional given by Peter M. Johnson here at BYU. Y'all it's got me inspired!! During the devo he talked about how true happiness is found as we come to know Jesus and his sacrifice for each of us individually!!

The knowledge that Jesus loves me so much that he'd willingly die for me is everything! And the best part, HE DID THAT FOR ALL OF US. INDIVIDUALLY. Doesn't that just make you smile!!

Jesus is my happiness and my joy

When I've got Jesus, I'm so blessed💞

FAITH > FEAR

How often do we let our fears get in our way? I know I've fallen victim to this before.

Fear is such a natural thing that as humans we all experience, but what would happen if we let faith take over fear?

When Peter made the conscious decision to step out of the boat, he put his faith first. HE TRUSTED JESUS! However, when the winds began the blow and the waves began to crash, fear took over. He let his fear overcome his faith

But what do we learn about Jesus here? HE STEPS IN!!

Jesus is worthy of our faith. He deserves our trust.

Peter didn't sink because the Savior reached out and caught him.

His hand is outstretched to us as well. We only need faith enough to take hold.
