In June of 1986, two Presbyterian churches came together to provide a Presbyterian witness to the city of Providence, and to cultivate a church family that would reflect the love and teaching of Jesus Christ. The church is located at the corner of Hope and Mt Hope Streets on the East Side of Providence. We believe that the Church is called to reflect the kingdom of God which embraces all believers

. We invite, accept and welcome into our membership and leadership people who differ by age, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, family status, economic situation and theological viewpoint. This diverse group energetically and cooperatively participates in the life of this congregation, its mission and leadership. Worship is central to our lives and is motivating for everything we do. We seek to serve Jesus Christ through outreach and mission projects, so that we can be a congregation in service as well as in worship.

Christian teachings on our responsibility for one another are unequivocally clear: to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Please join me in prayer.

For all in harms away this evening as an active shooter is at large near Brown, we pray for God’s protection.
For those who are afraid this evening, we pray for God’s comfort.
For politicians who have chosen evil policies that they know lead to tragic events like this, we pray that they would repent.
We pray these things through Christ, Amen.

I hope that wherever you are, you and your loved ones are safe tonight. Peace, Pastor T. J.

Hi All, I thought you might be interested to see this news about our denomination. The title of the article isn't exactly catchy. But it is about the PCUSA signing on to a lawsuit that would restore churches as places of sanctuary. Hope you're having a great week. -Pastor T.J.

The Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk and Executive Director of the Interim Unified Agency, joined with other national faith leaders to speak out for the PC(USA) through the General Assembly in support of the sanctuary movement in a media release published by Sojourners on February 6.
