For nearly three decades, the Sunset Summer Cookout has celebrated community, friendship, and civic participation. Throughout that journey, Sabina Matos has been more than an elected official she has been a friend of the event and a familiar face who has shared in its mission of bringing together Rhode Islanders from every background.

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Sunset Summer Cookout, we also celebrate leaders whose journeys inspire future generations to serve their communities with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
