Zen Studies Program

Zen Studies Program The Gateless Gate at the Zen Studies Program Once a student passes through that gate, their path will lead them to the tradition best for them.

The Zen Studies Program provides students with a solid foundation in developing the practice of meditation and compassion. Our core guidance comes from the Ch'an Buddhist tradition which became known to the world as the Japanese traditions of Zen Buddhism. We also incorporate teachings from other notable teachers of the compassionate way such as Chögyam Trungpa, Pema Chödrön, Thich Naht Hanh, and

Master Sheng-yen. Based in Buddhist tradition, the Zen Studies Program neither requires students to be Buddhist or, if they are Buddhist, to adhere to a specific school. Our goal is to provide the first gate for those to enter who are seeking calmness, self-awareness and to live a compassionate life. For local Buddhists of specific traditions, we hope to provide an additional resource for community through our morning Zazen and advanced classes. We offer an open morning practice of Ki and Zazen 7 days a week at 6am and have classes scheduled throughout the week in the morning, afternoon and evening. Call or email for more information.
