Meet Gail Scanlon, Deacon Assistant
Where did you grow up?
I’m a native Rhode Islander although, sadly, spent many of my adult years somewhere else far from “home”. So glad to back where a water fountain is a ‘bubbalah’, a milk shake is a cabinet, and a sandwich is a grinder. Still trying to get out of the habit of using my turn signal, but it’ll come. These things take time.
Tell us a little bit about your family.
I grew up in a big family (4th of 7) and have a large brood of my own. My six children are all grown and doing unexpected and interesting things with their lives. It is one of my greatest joys to see how they have all become such hard working, creative, and kind people. I’m truly blessed.
Do you have any hobbies?
I have a diversity of interests and I’m not afraid to try something new– I love interior design, live music, trivia contests, old jokes, gardening, drawing, singing, and actually think someone may be signing me up for a tap dance class, but I’m not sure!
What would you like people to know about Trinity Presbyterian Church?
I hope that everyone who visits Trinity Pres will have an experience similar to my own and feel they too have come home, and whether from here or from far away, have found a place to grow spiritually, to serve the body and to find rest and peace among the saints under the mercy of Christ.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse? If so, what is it?
Eph 2:19-22 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
