Mary’s to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) to establish a Traditional Latin Parish. Mary’s Church is a Traditional Latin Mass Parish in the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island. One of our state’s most historic parishes, St. Mary’s was erected in 1853. The current Gothic church, built of Westerly Granite, was completed in 1869 and consecrated on June 7, 1901. In 2018, His Excellency Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence entrusted the care of St. Peter (FSSP) to establish a Traditional Latin Mass Parish for the faithful in Rhode Island and the surrounding areas. All Masses and Sacraments are offered in accordance with the liturgical books of 1962, as expressed in the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum of Pope Benedict XVI. A full parochial life with catechism, sacramental preparation, devotions, and groups of formation for the youth is offered at St. Mary’s, we live in the hope that one day, by the grace of God, we will closely resemble the description of the parish given just 69 years ago.

After two years of mission work in Guale, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter is establishing its first permanent apostolate in Ecuador. Fr. Xavier Proust, FSSP, will serve as priest-in-charge. Read the update and join us in prayer and support.

We are grateful to Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, for the establishment of the new Chaplaincy under the patronage of Our Lady of Victory.

This special ministry supports the faithful attached to the Extraordinary Form, primarily in Front Royal and elsewhere in the Diocese of Arlington.

Father Jonathan Romanoski, FSSP, and Father John Audino, FSSP, have been appointed to serve the Chaplaincy.

Please join us in praying for this new chaplaincy, the Diocese of Arlington, and all the faithful who will be served through this ministry.
