My 19 year old son, Will, was on his way home from a Christmas party when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree. One Sunday morning before church, I was reading my daily devotion. At church that morning the sermon was about refreshing others. As I thought back on my morning devotion as well as the sermon, I felt a direct message from God that I had been waiting for. That night I s
tarted searching the internet for the word refreshed. The first thing that came up was a bible verse, Proverbs 11:25 "He who refreshes others will themselves be refreshed". As weeks went by, I started noticing news articles and social media post about other families that had lost sons or daughters. I immediately felt compelled to reach out to these families and offer encouragement. Today, I continue this mission and I offer love and hope to anyone that I know about that has encountered a dark day in hopes that they may have a brighter tomorrow. Our project is the creation of the Will Memorial sports complex, to help provide free and accessible recreational sport training and playing opportunities to individuals and teams in the area. The complex will consist of several ball fields, meeting facilities, and a training facility. The training facility will be equipped with high grade batting cages and staffed with coaches who dually focus on developing character and technique. By providing such facilities to the community, local youth will be able to participate in recreational sports without requiring extensive traveling or excessive funds. We have purchased and cleared the land. We are now ready to begin building the training facility to welcome athletes and coaches by the end of 2023 or early 2024
