Advent Church Celina For the Families of Celina. Member of the Worldwide Anglican Communion & Episcopal Diocese of Dallas

Advent Church Celina is going to take seriously the mission statement Jesus gave the Church: To make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to do what Jesus commanded us to do.

- We will be a church that sees itself as a community of disciples training to make disciples.
- We will be a church where parishioners are taught an alternative way of living, with alternative means, instructions, and disciplines from the world in an attempt to deepen faith and allow them to grow more like Jesus.
- Central to our mission is creating a space where beauty and worship are treated with great care. As the inner lives of our parishioners are being shaped by the Holy Spirit and spiritual disciples, the outer rhythms of life will include outlets for them to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.
- We are a church for the families of Celina, and taking care of our little ones is one of our top priorities. We want to feed the Gospel to moms and dads, but we will place a premium on efforts to raise up the next generation of disciples.
- We want to be a place where everyone, young or old, can feel deeply connected to one another and to the ancient roots of
the Faith.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!🙌🏻

What a beautiful way to celebrate St. Francis Day!🐾

Today, Church of the Advent celebrated our very first Blessing of the Animals, a joyful gathering of creatures great and small, in honor of the 800th Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi, whose love for all of God’s creation continues to inspire us.

Advent’s first blessing certainly came with a little bit of everything: 🐶 dogs, 🦎 reptiles, 🐓 roosters, and plenty of beloved companions in between!

As St. Francis reminds us, we are all part of one beautiful, interconnected part of God’s creation.

Happy St. Francis Day from Advent Church!⛪️

God of ALL creation, we give you thanks and praise! 🐾🐶🐈🐢🐰🐴🐹

This Sunday, we celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and all of creation, with a special Blessing of the Animals at Advent.

All creatures great and small are welcome; furry, feathered, four-legged, or otherwise! Come bring the animals who bring so much joy, companionship, and love into our lives as we give thanks for the goodness of God’s creation.

At 4:00 PM, Father Drew will offer a special blessing for our beloved animal companions, and for all that God has made.

Bring your pets, and join us for this sweet and joyful afternoon!

A City Full of Adams
Father Drew, September 20th

God looked at Jonah and saw Adam. God looked at Nineveh and saw a city full of Adams. God looks at you and He sees Adam. He sees His creation, reconciled back to Himself through Jesus Christ.

Forgiven Like You’re Forgiven
Father Drew
September 13, 2026

Peter asks Jesus a question we’ve all wondered: how many times do I have to forgive someone? Seven times? Jesus’ answer, seventy-seven times, isn’t really about math. It’s about the kind of forgiveness that reflects the mercy we’ve already received.

The more we recognize that we are God’s forgiven, and beloved children, the more we’re able to extend that same love, forgiveness, and kindness to the people around us.

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant reminds us that God’s grace isn’t meant to stop with us. We receive mercy, so that we can become people who freely offer mercy. We are loved, so that we can love our neighbors.

That’s is the life that God is calling us into: receiving His forgiveness, and allowing it to shape the way we forgive, love, and care for one another.
