🍞✨ Taste, create, and discover the Church year at Feasts and Seasons!

At Feasts and Seasons, children will explore the rhythms of the Christian year through food and the shared table. Together, they’ll assemble, layer, arrange, garnish, and create beautiful seasonal foods while learning about the feasts, fasts, stories, and symbols that shape our life of faith.

This offering is open to children of all ages. Children under 7 should be accompanied by a parent or other adult.

Come learn with your hands, your senses, and your appetite! Register on Realm today.

📖 What do we do with suffering, doubt, and the questions that don’t have easy answers? Men of St. Francis: you are invited to explore these challenging ideas together here at St. Francis.

This fall, the Thursday Men’s Bible Study is taking on the book of Job—one of Scripture’s most challenging and compelling explorations of faith when life falls apart.

All men in the parish are welcome to join Fr. Clint on Thursday mornings at 7:00 a.m. as we dig into Job together, wrestle with its difficult questions, and consider what this ancient book has to say to our lives today.

The group meets in Rooms 201/202, and there is no charge to participate. Register through Realm and join us!

🍽️ New—or new-ish—to St. Francis? We’d love to have you for dinner!

Join us for a casual Newcomers Dinner at the Rectory on Saturday, September 12, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

This is a relaxed opportunity to meet other newcomers, get to know members of the St. Francis community, and enjoy an evening of food and fellowship together.

Childcare will be provided at the church. Please email [email protected] with the names and ages of any children who will need care.

Whether you’ve been here a few weeks or a little longer and still consider yourself “new-ish,” you are warmly invited!

🌎 Meet the 2026–27 Louisville Bridge Fellows!

We are delighted to welcome this year’s class of five Fellows to Louisville and to St. Francis in the Fields! This year’s group comes to us from Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kenya, and Panama.

Over the coming year, the Louisville Bridge Fellows will grow professionally, deepen their faith through intentional Christian community, and serve both the Church and the wider Louisville community. The program brings together work, spiritual formation, leadership development, and service as Fellows discern how their faith shapes every part of their lives.

Swipe through to meet this year’s Fellows, and please join us in giving them a warm St. Francis welcome! We look forward to all that this year will hold.

🎶 Please join us in welcoming Daly Thomson, our new Organ Scholar, to St. Francis!

A native of San Francisco, Daly earned his Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from Trinity University in San Antonio, where he studied with Dr. David Heller. He is now pursuing his Master of Music at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music as a student of Dr. Janette Fishell.

At St. Francis, Daly will assist Dr. Rich and Dr. Smith throughout our music program—playing hymns, accompanying and singing with the Parish Choir, working in the music library, and providing musical leadership for our Sunday 5:00 p.m. service in the Davenport Chapel.

We are grateful to continue our partnership with Dr. Jeffrey Smith and the Organ Department at IU’s Jacobs School of Music through our Organ Scholar program, which gives developing young organists the opportunity to grow in the skills and experience needed for a life of professional church music.

We are delighted to have Daly with us and look forward to the gifts he will bring to the worship and musical life of St. Francis!

🧵 A labor of love, skill, and faithful service.

Our beautiful needlepoint kneelers have long been a special part of worship at St. Francis, lovingly crafted over the years by generations of parishioners.

Recently, members of the St. Clare Needlepoint Guild undertook the careful work of repairing and reshuffling all of our altar kneelers so that they can continue to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time and talents to this project, with special thanks to Elizabeth Gillette for spearheading the undertaking.

Take a look at this bird's eye view of their beautiful handiwork—and join us in thanking the guild for the care they give to this unique part of our worship life!
