Thought of the day:
This morning I am preparing to attend the funeral of a woman that has been a wonderful example to me in so many ways. As a young person her example of godliness was clear to see and understand. Countless others were taught and encouraged by her example. She played a important part in helping my wife become a Christian. As I reflect back over the 50 plus years I have known her, where did the time go? Our life is "just a v***r that appears for a little while and then vanishes away (Jas. 4:14).

Thought for the day:
Faith or works, the age old question. Some contend we are saved by faith, and faith only. Others contend works play a part in salvation. James sure seems to answer this question; "But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works (Jas. 2:18)." The example of Abraham is offered; "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar (Jas. 2:21)? So what does that teach us; "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (Jas. 2:24).

Thought for the day:
As I sat on the back porch this crisp cool morning, with the sky so blue, and a bright orange glow to the east, brought this verse to mind; "This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psa 118:24) In the midst of a troubled world observing God through His great handiwork can bring pease and security to our lives.

The religious world is so confusing: different doctrines, practices, faiths, hopes, etc. One thing is for sure, “God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Cor. 14:33. By accepting only the teaching of God in the bible will all the confusion come to an end. Paul talks about this very unity and peace by saying there is one body, Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, and God (Eph. 4:1-6). We invite you to bring your Bible, family and come study God’s Word with us.
