Why all the hate?
This question keeps running through my mind. As I dwell on this question a few Bible verses come to mind.
We have not been paying attention
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour 1 Peter 5:8
Simply put we have underestimated the enemy. Peter warned us to be alert and clear-headed. We cannot have a clear mind unless it is filled with God’s truth. Unfortunately, many have allowed dust to gather on their Bibles, and the prayer closets remain empty.
Therefore the …god of this age has blinded our minds…
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
For the last 60 years we have been pushing God out of our society, our schools, our business, out of the public square, our government. Which means we have created a Godless society, which is easily blinded by Satan’s lies.
The light we so desperately need has been replaced with humanism, materialism and any other “ism” out there.
So, what has taken the place of God? A vacuum cannot exist in space. Jesus tells us…
“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
Why the burning, looting, maiming, and killings. That is the nature of their father.
It certainly seems that Satan has turned up the heat on our country today. Why is that?
“Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short” (Revelation 12:12).
His time is short, many would say this is in reference to the seven-year tribulation period, but I believe he realizes it is now also. If there is anyone filled with the capacity to hate, it would be the god of this world, Satan.
Is that why there is so much unexplained hate today? We do not fight against flesh and blood…Eph. 6
One of the scariest verses in the Bible, to me anyway, is …God gave them over to a reprobate mind… reprobate is one that cannot see the truth or “refuses to accept”. God gave them over… when God gives them over, what’s next, what’s left. Are we seeing that today? Just asking.
Billy Graham once said, “The same sun that melts the butter hardens the clay.” Our hearts of clay need the Son to melt our hearts. Are we accepting or rejecting?
