From Fr. Toni:
I hope all are well and will have a Happy Thanksgiving in spite of everything!!!
And let's remember that 1st. Thanksgiving was born of hardship not of joy. Not in plenty but in deprivation. The real spiritual discipline of Thanksgiving is to face the challenges and hardships, and yet still give thanks. It is to find reason for gratitude even in pain or chaos. It is to look deeper into the fabric of our world and see blessings where we thought none could exist.
Godspeed!!!

Guidelines for Returning to Mass at St. Catherine’s Parish

Father Toni and the Parish Council welcome all parishioners to be “Back in His Presence”, the return to public celebration of Mass at the normal times:
• Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM.
• Saturday evening at 6:00 PM.
• Sunday morning at 10:30 AM.

In order to provide an environment where, foremost, all feel safe, the following steps are being implemented with an emphasis on sanitation and social distancing.

1. Sanitation. The church will be sanitized before Mass and the doors will remain open so parishioners will not need to touch door handles. Parishioners will sanitize their hands before sitting. If restrooms are used, please use the antiseptic wipes to sanitize whatever is touched.

2. Masks. Parishioners are advised to bring their own masks and to wear them until seated and while exiting. Communion will be by hand only and parishioners are encouraged to wear their masks until after reception of the host.

3. Social Distancing. All parishioners (except family groups) must maintain a six foot distance between each other. Therefore, every other church pew has been closed and six-foot tape marks are in the main aisle for single-line, communion spacing. Couples and individuals may sit in the same pew with other individuals, but at opposite ends. Parishioners may not congregate socially in the church before or after Mass.

4. Liturgy Changes. Hymnals have been removed from pews and there will be no formal music for the immediate future. Parishioners are encouraged to bring their own missals if they wish.

5. Dispensation. Bishop Malloy has extended his dispensation for those who are not yet ready to attend Mass. Certainly if you are sick, please stay at home for the safety of all. As Father Toni says, “Spread the Gospel, not the virus”.

If you have any questions. please contact Father Toni Kretowicz at 815.537. 2077 (rectory) or 847. 738. 2244 (celI).

The value Catherine makes central in her short life and which sounds clearly and consistently through her experience is complete surrender to Christ. What is most impressive about her is that she learns to view her surrender to her Lord as a goal to be reached through time. She was
