What a joyful morning of worship together at Unity!

We began the service hearing testimonies of God’s faithfulness in the lives of Bob Dykstra and the Morris Family. Then we celebrated three Professions of Faith and a testimony of faith from Andrew Broberg, Jacob Ver Steeg, Samuel Zwart, and Moses DeGroot as we welcomed them into full membership at Unity Church!

As we studied Acts 18, we were reminded that God uses ordinary people for extraordinary kingdom work. Through the examples of Paul, Priscilla and Aquila, and Apollos, we saw how God equips His people to serve faithfully, sharpen one another through discipleship, and share the Gospel boldly.

May we continue to be a church rooted in God’s Word, growing in grace, and reaching others with the Gospel as we carry the light of Christ into the world!

This week, Pastor Travis Berry reminded us of the transformative power of praise, even in the middle of pain and difficult circumstances. Through the story of Paul and Silas in Acts 16:16-40, we see that praise isn’t just a response to breakthrough; it’s an act of faith before the breakthrough comes.

Beaten and imprisoned, Paul and Silas chose to pray and sing at midnight. Their praise wasn’t based on comfort, but on trust in God. Through their praise, not only were they freed, but the jailer and his household came to faith.

We were challenged to see that praise is purposeful. God often uses our hardest moments as opportunities to work through us and reach others.

When we fix our eyes on the cross, we find the strength to praise in every season. Let’s walk into this week choosing praise!

This week, Pastor Travis Berry walked us through Acts 16 and reminded us what it means to live a Spirit-led life. As Paul continued his journey, he showed a mission-first mindset, willingly laying aside personal preferences to remove barriers and share the gospel. Even with a plan, Paul stayed sensitive to the Holy Spirit; following open doors and trusting God through unexpected detours.

Through Lydia's story, we were reminded that every life matters. What may seem like a small moment of obedience can lead to lasting impact and gospel growth.

As we closed in communion, we were reminded that the Spirit always leads us back to Christ and sends us out together as His people.

Let’s step into this week ready to follow where He leads!

This Easter Sunday at Unity, Pastor Travis Berry reminded us to keep the Gospel at the center of our lives. From 1 Corinthians 15:1–11, we reflected on these gospel truths: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and raised on the third day. We were encouraged to intentionally remember God’s faithfulness, knowing that remembrance strengthens our faith and keeps us grounded. The resurrection isn’t just hope, it’s reality, supported by eyewitnesses, transformed lives, and unwavering testimony. And through it all, we’re reminded that God’s grace is for everyone. No one is beyond His reach. Because Jesus lives, we have true hope, new life, and the promise of eternity. He is risen indeed!

As we celebrated Palm Sunday, we were blessed to have the BrookArbor Worship Arts Group lead us in a time of worship and reflection. The BrookArbor team walked us through a series of songs and scriptures that reminded us of the unconditional, sacrificial love of God and our response to that love. As we enter Holy Week, may we pause to reflect on His sacrifice, respond with gratitude, rest in His grace, and rejoice in His victory!

This Sunday, we leaned into an important moment in the life of our church—a season of transition and a call to move forward in faith. We celebrated the “passing of the baton” as we recognized and expressed our gratitude to Pastor Dan for his leadership over the past two years of interim. We also were blessed to witness the installation of our new Lead Pastor — Travis Berry!

In his sermon, “Passing the Baton”, Pastor Dan walked us through Acts 15:30-41 and reminded us that the Church was never meant to be just a building — we are the Church and we carry the presence of God wherever we go.

As we “pass the baton” into what God has next, we were challenged to remember a few key things:
1) Jesus is enough—fully and completely. We don’t add to the Gospel with performance, pressure, or tradition. We live from a place of grace, not for it.
2) Church leaders aren’t called to do all the ministry— they’re called to equip YOU to live it out. Every believer has a role!
3) The mission doesn’t stay inside the walls. We are called to go—into our homes, workplaces, and communities—as ministers of the Gospel.

As we enter into this new season, let us remember these things as we carry out the call of BEING the Church!
