Worship, Fellowship, and Baptisms! What a great way to spend a Sunday together 🫶🏼 We were prompted with the question this past week of who is Jesus? And are we actually able to look past the noise and distraction of our world, to see God’s hand in our lives, and to keep our eyes fixed on Christ. There are book or video studies or groups focused more on fellowship and community. Spiritual growth happens primarily in the context of relationships, and it truly is a gift from the LORD to be able to gather together and use our gifts in small group settings. Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Today, we’re grateful for the gift of work and for all those who faithfully serve, build, teach, care, create, and provide for others through their work.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
— Colossians 3:23

Whatever our work may look like, we can honor God through it by giving our best, serving others, and remembering who we ultimately work for. May God bless the work of our hands and give us opportunities to reflect His love in all that we do.

HAPPY FALL! 🍁🍂🍃 It was such a sweet celebration as a family this past week to launch our next year of ministry, serving, programs, and groups. We also got to hear from Travis teaching through Acts 25 and how we can stand firm in our faith. As you look ahead to this next year, what are ways you can get involved? Plugged in? Using your gifts? Our Father is good! It is always a gift to gather as a family and worship. We pray for these 2nd graders that upon receiving their Bibles that they would be children who from an early age love the Lord and His Word. And let all of us be reminded again and again of how God is present and with us in every moment and season of life. He is faithful. Help us, too, Lord to be faithful to you and unshaken even in the storms of life.

Calling any bakers!! Next Tuesday, September 1st, Unity is going to be preparing and serving a meal for United Campus Ministry— an organization serving and discipling students at Ridgewater College. Every Tuesday and Wednesday they serve lunch to over 200 college students, and we would love people to help provide dessert! So if you are able, we’d love if you’d make a batch or two of cookies and bring them on Sunday. Thanks for being apart of serving those in our community 🫶🏼🍪

Praise God for His hand at work in each of us individually and together as a family. What a good reminder of how God sustains us in all circumstances through both ordinary and extraordinary means. Though we might only see the current circumstances, He sees the purpose. May we be a people who trusts that God’s working hand is with us and among us. And remember that even when we are faithless, He remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). Are there any promises of God that are especially powerful to you in this season?

Studying Acts 22:22-23:11, we were reminded to TAKE COURAGE! That doesn’t mean we ignore our circumstances, pretend to mask our fears, or carelessly disregard danger. No. Biblical courage is the confidence that God is WITH US, even in the storm. And no matter what, God’s providence is unfailing, His purposes are certain, and His presence is with us always.
